GLP-1s making me kinda mad

year one dropped 75, been steady for 2.5 more. always worked out, lift heavy 4-5 days. didn't stop the skin thing though — got a breast lift, could use face stuff. just time and being heavy 15 years. muscles up, bodyfat down to 16, other markers are solid. weighted vest walks and protein at each meal.

Vulnerable post incoming...

Dealing with a lot here. Polycystic ovaries, type 2 diabetes, a painful skin condition. My entire existence has revolved around carefully juggling blood sugar and diet.

Over the years, tried plenty of approaches, mostly successfully, for the condition causing the worst pain, a chronic inflammatory skin issue. Only ever had one abscess lanced in 33 years, so I'll count that as a win, but good lord.

A high dose of a common diabetes medication did zero good (which honestly tracked, since I didn't even understand what this condition was back then, too embarrassed to even mention it.)

Quit smoking, saw fewer flare-ups.

Dropped weight through a low-carb approach (which also kept my glucose beautifully controlled) and went roughly three years flare-free while starting to care for the scarring. Made real headway using a daily acid treatment, to where one side barely shows any trace at all now. The other side was always worse but it's improving too.

Eventually fell off that eating plan and regained a lot, but never went back to the specific foods that triggered the worst episodes (certain carb-heavy dishes basically guaranteed waking up with a painful golf-ball sized lump within a day or two.) That eating approach taught me genuinely valuable food habits and there's plenty I still don't e

What exactly do they mean, like fainting from low blood sugar? Appreciate the warning, I'll look into it.

Hey, I hear you. This being my first time though, I genuinely had zero clue what was coming, so figured crowdsourcing advice would help me get ready based on what's actually worked for others. But like several people mentioned already, the fifth compound cuts appetite so you naturally gravitate toward eating "clean". Problem is I already eat that way, just in massive quantities... Living in Norway, eating whole unprocessed meals daily is basically the norm here.

Guess sugar isn't the enemy as long as there's an overall deficit happening. Noticed my leanest stretch actually coincided with eating tons of carbs and treats...

Were you actually logging what you ate? Plenty of people say what you're saying, but are you all really counting, or not? And if so, what deficit should I be targeting?

What deficit works for you personally? Any recommendation?

Crazy... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Appreciate the input, will look into it and probably stick with my high carb, lower fat approach that I already consider healthy. Just paired with some kind of deficit obviously.

Thanks for the husk-in-water suggestion too. I can manage that. Really don't love mixing odd stuff into my food though as
