GLP-1s really can be life-changing ✨

Hey everyone! I began taking tirzepatide around mid-December of 2024. I went from being pre-diabetic, struggling with metabolic issues due to PCOS and Hashimoto's, and weighing 186 lbs (being only 5'2") to now weighing 127! I've been stuck at this weight since August, my ultimate goal is 114 lbs.

After having COVID, I developed a pretty serious heart problem that messed up my whole metabolism. I gained so much weight so fast and it really put a strain on my heart. Plus I had fatty liver issues, etc.

I just wanted to give this medication props for helping me drop the extra weight when nothing else seemed to work. I'm talking my TDEE was only 600 calories prior to the meds because of my hormones! I'm hoping to lose another 10 lbs at least, but I'm already super happy with where I'm at!

Photos: First one is from summer 2024, second one is right when I started tirzepatide, and the rest are current.

This post is giving me so much hope! I also have PCOS and we started at almost the same height and weight. I've been plateauing at 135, trying to get down to the 120s.

I love your style in the last couple pics! Can I ask how old you are and if you're dealing with any loose skin? I have prediabetes, insulin resistance, and some heart issues. I've struggled with weight loss for years. Even when I had an active job, exercised, and ate well, I'd only lose like 20-25 lbs before stalling. After COVID, I lost my job and gained everything back, plus more, within 6 months. 😬

Congratulations!! I’m 5’0 and understand completely.

I’m older but now at a healthy weight and BMI; my health has improved tons.

Good luck

Could you share what your dosing schedule has been like throughout your treatment?

Of course! I started at 2.5mg for a month, then moved to 5mg for 2 months, then 7.5mg for 3 months, then 10mg for 3 months, and I've been on 12.5mg for the last few months. I'm thinking of going up to 15mg soon to try and break this plateau.

It's amazing how these GLP-1 receptor agonists can impact metabolic function. A recent clinical review showed semaglutide can be incredibly effective for chronic weight management when other methods have failed. It's definitely something to consider, especially with underlying conditions like PCOS.

These meds are expensive! I'm a retiree on a fixed budget and while these peptides are magic, the cost is a concern.

I've heard some people are splitting doses to make them last longer. I wonder if that is a viable option?
