Good EU source for bac water?

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to find a reliable place in Europe (or even better, Germany) to get bac water! I can't seem to find anything that looks trustworthy, so I'm hoping you guys can share your experiences...

Would something like this work? https://www.shop-apotheke.com/arzneimittel/6605508/ampuwa-wasser-fuer-injektionszwecke.htm It shows up when I search for bac water, and it says it's for injections, but I'm guessing it's just sterile water because it's so cheap?

Thanks!

Hey! You'll probably need to order bacteriostatic water from a company in North America. I am not sure about the legality of shipping into Europe, but here are some examples:

Bacteriostatic Water for Injection 30mL | Reputable Brand

Fresh supply. Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol preservative.

www.midwiferysupplies.ca

Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP - 30mL MDV Product ID

Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic preparation of water for injection containing 0.9% (9 mg/mL) of benzyl alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative. Product ID

amscomedical.com

Both of these ship internationally.

I also heard someone say that sterile water can be used for up to a month if you are careful. So that could be an alternative.

Has anyone tried buying bac water on that giant online retailer? It looks really expensive, but it might be an easy option?

But how can you be sure it's actually sterile and has the right amount of the preservative? You can at least trust well-known brands when it comes to sterile water.

The second company you mentioned doesn't ship outside the US.

I think there are a couple of EU companies that sell bac water. Check around on social media; their contact info should be public.
I've heard good things about the Canadian company you mentioned too.

I've used a bac water product from that big online retailer and I'm still here. The packaging says it has 0.9% Benzyl Alcohol, a batch number, and the right PH. It's a British company. Has anyone had it tested?

I couldn't find a certain brand of BAC water for sale in Europe, unfortunately.

Hey, did you ever find a good source? I'm also in Germany and looking. Someone I know uses the bac water from Amazon that someone mentioned and they're fine, but I'm thinking of just ordering from overseas... unless there's a decent option in the EU.

There's an EU supplier that sells a reputable brand. Any other bac water might as well be tap water, for all I care.

You should use pharmaceutical-grade sterile water, especially if your vial is small. Even more so if you are using a pen and filtering to reduce risks.

I saw someone talking about this today - I haven’t tried it myself but it could be an option? They do some kind of certification, but the review dates seem weird… Be careful. It’s as expensive as the Canadian option, but it’s there if the other falls through.

Is it okay to bring a large supply of these meds back from another country? Like, do you need a prescription?

Good question! I'm guessing you'd need a prescription to be safe, or maybe risk it if it's a small amount?

Just a heads up, I heard that some people use regular insulin needles to inject from vials. Might be cheaper than pens if you don't mind doing it that way! I'm not sure if that's appropriate for this discussion.

Lambda water is a solid choice for reconstitution. Test pictures are around in the vendor threads if you dig back a few months. EU ordering adds lead time but the product is consistent.

Braun is standard in DE but any bacteriostatic 0.9% NaCl with 0.9% benzyl alcohol works - pharmacy-direct or lab supply sites in the EU usually carry it.
