Got burned on pep order - help!

I'm having issues with my first order from a supplier in HK. A friend gave me a contact on that messaging app, said she got her stuff no problem. I paid with crypto, which in hindsight maybe wasnt smart. They used some rando shipping company called like, GlobalFastShip or something.

For almost a week it just sat there, labelled 'in transit'. When I import from overseas, it usually moves faster than that.

I kept watchin' the tracking, then called the number on their website, and it's just some dude, not a real company. Then I get texts saying I owe like, $275 for customs and I can pay online...or with crypto. I told them online. Then they demanded crypto only, and wanted it ASAP, which to me screams scam. Plus, $275 seems like a weird flat rate for tariffs, right?

Then I went to the supplier's site, found another contact, hit her up, and she said the original contact is a scammer. New contact says they ship with FedEx or UPS, depending on if it's liquids, not this weird shipping place.

Anyone know how I can figure out who's legit? I thought using a friend's contact was safe but here we are. If I lost $800, I don't want to throw another $275 on top of it. I'm tight on cash right now. Don't wanna get scammed twice.

Ouch, that sounds rough. I tend to double down when I'm losing, hoping to recoup. But maybe take a step back here...

Whatever you do, DO NOT send that money for 'tariffs'. No customs agent is gonna demand bitcoin. Those fees have to be paid in USD.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you might need to just accept the loss and do more research before ordering again. Sorry this happened; it's a tough lesson.

If the real people at the company cant confirm your order, its gonezo. Try contacting the main people to see.

I'm trying to be optimistic here! Maybe your order *is* still processing. By calling the number on that website you could have reached a completely different scammer who knows nothing about your order. Did the person on the phone know anything about what you ordered? Maybe your package is still on its way, and this is a separate scam attempt. 🤞

I went against my better judgment and paid it. They said I'll get my order now, lol. We'll see. I did it because my friend vouched for that contact, but that was a while ago. She's saying she'll use FedEx in the future.

Honestly, I'm not even sure the website is legit. It was easy to find a knock-off. Plus, it was peptide singular, not plural.

Hoping it gets here soon. I'll update here.

Scam confirmed. After days of nothing, and the shipping site being down, I get a notice that it's in my town and I need to pay a 'city license fee' of $100, which they'll refund after I pay. My town is tiny - we don't even have zoning. It's not a city, and there's no such thing as a permit fee. Bummer, but whatever.

Ugh, so sorry that happened. I hope others learn from this and realize it's super important to be careful and verify everything.

That's why I posted it. A longtime friend gave me the contact number, said he used it ok before.

I even checked this site before ordering and saw the supplier was legit. Guess I found the wrong person.

Mentioning suppliers is generally okay, but newbies can't do it, and you can't shill.

Since this is about scams, I'm willing to bend the rules a little for newer members, but you'll have to message me so I can approve your posts. Also, we're planning to revamp the vendor section soon, and we'll probably add a 'wall of shame' type thing.

I fell for a scam twice with some suppliers from India before finding this forum. Not fun! Things have been good using the ones mentioned here, but I'm always aware that something could go wrong. We try to lower the risk, but it's impossible to get rid of it completely, sadly.

Thanks Eddie09

The supplier I used had a number ending in 9496 on that app. After I ordered, I found another contact; they both claimed the other was a scammer. Like I said, a friend used the first one successfully. The second one's number ends in 4378.

Has anyone here used either of these contacts? FWIW, the first one said she'd reship if I don't receive it. But she used the scam shipping company, so I'm not holding my breath.

If, by some miracle, it arrives, I'll post here. The shipping company is definitely scamming/lying. Now they're saying there's an investigation about my package while still claiming it's in my town and will be delivered soon after I pay. If the first part was true, they can't guarantee the second part.

Where can I find the real contact info?
