Food aversions are so weird when you start these meds. I couldn’t do ground beef for a while there too. I read somewhere taste changes are common early on.

It is interesting to note that a small percentage of patients on GLP-1 receptor agonists may experience new-onset erectile dysfunction, particularly those with pre-existing hypertension or who experience less significant weight loss.

I had a really rough time going up to the 1.7mg dose. The nausea was terrible, and I felt exhausted. I'm losing weight, but it's been slower. Has anyone else had that experience with dose increases?
Dose jumps can definitely cause side effects. I've heard taking it slow helps.

Beef went south for me too around week three on Wegovy. Stayed away for a couple of weeks, then it slowly came back — first as part of pasta sauce, then plain ground, then back to burgers a month or so later. Didn't force it, just let my appetite signal when it was OK again. Fish and chicken stayed neutral throughout.

Ground beef aversion is extremely common on GLP-1 - the texture and fat content hit differently once the reward response changes. It's not permanent, but while it's active, white meat and fish tolerate much better. Chicken breast, ground turkey, canned tuna and salmon are easier to get through. If getting protein to 100g is the goal, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and egg whites let you fill the gap without relying on ground beef. Once the aversion is bad, forcing the food is counterproductive - work around it.
