Hair loss options besides finasteride or dutasteride?

My hair has been thinning and I'm fairly sure the fast weight loss on tirz is behind it. I'm 50, nine months in at 7.5 mg, and the side effects have mostly faded, so this is the one thing left that bothers me. I would like to protect what I have without going the finasteride or dutasteride route, because I don't want to interfere with DHT throughout my whole body.

While reading around I ran into a topical anti-androgen called KX-826, also known as pyrilutamide. It works locally on the scalp, which appeals to me. Has anyone here used it or followed discussions on topical options like that for keeping hair while on a GLP-1? I'm also curious what else people rely on that doesn't act systemically on DHT, whether it's supplements, scalp treatments, or something I haven't heard of. Real experience is what I'm after.

I haven't tried KX-826, and it seems to still be in trials, so real reports are thin. I've used topical minoxidil twice daily plus a ketoconazole shampoo on most weekends for about eight months. Neither one touches DHT through the whole body.

Long before GLP1s I was already on a multivitamin and extra D, since my D level runs chronically low. I also take hair vitamins because my hair has been growing out since before I began. I haven't had any shedding like some friends did. Am I sure it was the vitamins? No. Likely they contributed though. Best advice is have your doctor run blood tests for deficiencies.

Shedding after fast weight loss is often the kind that settles on its own after a few months. Before adding treatments I'd get ferritin, vitamin D and thyroid checked, because rapid loss and low intake can push those down and make the shedding worse.

After my hair thinned on tirz I bought a red light cap. It is slow, give it four to six months before you judge, and I can't say it did the job alone. My part line does look narrower now than it did in the spring though.
