Halfway there!

Hi everyone! I'm a 34yo female, 5'7", and began my journey in February at 198 pounds. My goal with sema was to drop about 55-65 pounds to get back to my pre-baby weight. I've lost 36 pounds so far and am now JUST inside a healthy BMI. I tried to lose weight naturally for a year with zero luck, but this medication has been a lifesaver. I'm currently at 0.38mg (using the pen clicks) and planning to stay here for the time being. I've been exercising a lot (running and lifting) and I think I've built some muscle while losing weight. It's amazing how much this affects my mood. I feel happier, stronger, faster, and so excited to be more active with my family!

Way to go! Studies have shown people can get off antidepressants and even reduce alcohol consumption! It also helps me concentrate. What's not to love about something that helps with addictions? And weight training is smart. You're young, but these meds can cause muscle loss, which happens with aging anyway. I'm lazy, so I don't train. Keep it up! You look good at any weight, so do what makes you happy. If you want to lose more, great, but keep lifting! If you don't, it's obvious you're on something. When you do, no one can tell, though age also plays a role.

You look fantastic! I really want to start working out, which was my plan when I started three weeks ago, but the fatigue is awful. I'm almost ready to quit! Did you experience that, Hank_25? Any tips?

Congrats! You look amazing! This gives me hope! I had my first 0.25 shot on Friday. 3 more at this dose then my doc is upping me to 0.50. This is my last chance, I'm hoping this works for me.

I did have some fatigue at first, especially when I first started the medication and after each dose increase. Make sure you're getting enough protein and electrolytes. I also found that light walks helped me feel less tired than just sitting around. Don't push yourself too hard at first!

Remember that muscle loss is a real concern! You're doing the right thing incorporating weight training Hank_25. It not only helps counteract potential muscle loss from the medication but also boosts metabolism, which is beneficial for long-term weight management. Plus, it's great for bone density!

Thanks for the advice! I'll try the walks and focus on my protein intake. Electrolytes are a good idea, too. I've just been so blah.
