Happy New Year, Maintainers!

For anyone heading to maintenance and considering skin removal, a friend had multiple surgeries and said having support is key. You'll likely need help with everyday tasks while you recover. Plan to have friends or family around for a few weeks.
That's really good advice, @Drew_19! I'm definitely considering skin removal and will keep that in mind. It's daunting!

Going from 295 to 155 and starting maintenance is the phase most people underestimate - the biology of weight defense is most active in the first 12-18 months after a large loss, which is exactly when building the habits that counteract it matters most. The community navigation piece actually becomes more important in maintenance than during active loss because the external validation of dropping numbers is gone.
