I'm taking 15mg. It's been about a year and a half, but I finally achieved my target of 145lbs a month ago. Currently at 142lbs, down from 263! My type 2 is under control and I don't need to monitor my blood sugar every day anymore. My cholesterol is also in good shape. All my blood tests are fantastic, which is what led me down this path. I'm 47 with 4 kids and just so happy to be healthy again! And please ignore my 15-year-old's messy room, it's just how teenagers are, lol.

That's so encouraging, congrats! I have a similar aim and a very close starting point (275 lbs). I'm 39 and just started 2 weeks prior. I hope that's me in 18 months, or even 2 years. Well done!

I also rewarded myself along the way! Like, seriously, I treated myself whenever my A1c dropped by one point. Got myself a nice gift when my A1c was normal. Got a treat when I dropped the first 20 pounds. Got myself something when my cholesterol lowered. Same with cholesterol being in range. Then my first 40lb loss. Then when I could finally buy clothes in a regular store. Then when I hit the triple digits and so forth... literally rewarding myself for each little thing helped. Setting tiny goals and crushing them. It was really helpful!

I've been on Ozempic for about 15 months now for diabetes. My A1c was in the 9s when I started. Now it's at 5.3 and I'm off Metformin. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

That's fantastic news! It's wonderful to hear how well it's working for you. Were there any changes in your diet or activity level that you think contributed to your success?

For those interested in the science behind these medications, Tirzepatide is showing great promise according to some recent studies. It's another option to discuss with your doctor if you're exploring treatments for diabetes and weight management. I can't give medical advice here, but knowledge is power! Here's a link to a site with some info:
