Hitting the goal before adding serious gym time is actually the right sequence for a lot of people - managing calories first removes the weight and the joint load improves enough that exercise becomes more accessible than it was. Adding gym work now means you're starting from a much better baseline than when you were heavier.
 
BMI at 6'4 with a large frame is basically the calibration problem that breaks the metric. 152-205 as a 'healthy range' for someone your size is genuinely meaningless as a personal target. The OP hitting their goal is what setting a sensible individual target rather than a chart target looks like. Congrats to OP!
