How long does your Tirz last in the fridge?

Okay, so I think I messed up, and I'm hoping someone can help. I was on semaglutide before, but the stuff I got wasn't working well, and then the place making it got shut down. It's been like, half a year since then. This is the first time I’m using meds that aren’t pre-mixed, so I bought what I thought would be enough for 3 months.

I decided to try tirz because I heard it's stronger, and my doc said I need shots or surgery (I'm 5'5" and weigh almost 275). I got a 60mg vial of tirz and bac water to mix it with. I was thinking, using 1ml of bac water:
Month 1: 2.5mg (4 units) weekly
Month 2: 5mg (8 units) weekly
Month 3: 7.5mg weekly
That should use it all up, right? I might add more bac water if I'm sensitive to it.

My question is: how long will it last? I didn’t realize it might not stay good for long. How stable will it be after I mix it? My old stuff lasted okay in the fridge, but is this different? If I keep it cold and careful, will it last the whole 3 months? Any advice is appreciated!
 
Honestly, nobody can say for sure if it'll last that long. I usually don't go past a month and a half, but that's just me. Watch out for cloudiness. Always sanitize the top. If I were you, I’d separate out enough for about six weeks and freeze it. A single freeze/thaw shouldn't hurt the tirz much.
 
I'd stash it in the freezer and get a smaller vial for now. That's a long time to keep it in the fridge. I know you're trying to save money, but once you start getting larger quantities, it'll save you money and you can get the right amount for your needs. I also agree with using more bac water for that much tirz.
 
From what I know about tirz, it should be okay for 3 months unless it gets cloudy. You might see a slight drop in strength, but it should still work. I give my daughter 30mg vials, and she says by month 3, her 2.5mg dose feels weaker. I'd mix with 2.5 ml of BAC for a 60 mg vial. That's 24 mg/ml. With the usual extra in the vial, 10 units should give you 2.5 mg easily. I can't measure 4 units accurately!
 
If you start injecting right after you mix it, that's actually about 11 weeks in the fridge.

If you're careful with hygiene, 11 weeks shouldn't be a problem.
 
I switched to a pen for this reason! I'm using up my other stuff first (22mg vials, and I'm on 4.4, so I'm good timewise). I have two 75mg vials to use after that, and they'd probably be okay, but I feel safer with a cartridge that isn't open to air. It's not necessarily logical, but it makes me feel better!
 
You're stressing too much.

Most people consider 3 months a normal time to keep tirzepatide refrigerated. It doesn't really degrade or get unsterile. Many pharmacies send out 3-month supplies with refrigeration instructions.

Just swab with alcohol before poking the vial each time.

If you're really worried, freeze it between uses. That’s not a good environment for germs. Tests show it handles repeated freezing/thawing well. It'll look cloudy frozen, but not thawed. I haven’t heard of it clouding otherwise.
 
I think they use more benzyl alcohol, maybe 1.5% instead of 0.9% in BAC, or use phenol instead. It's not as gentle on the peptide, but tirz is tough anyway.
 
I used compounded tirz for my first six months. The directions were the same as everywhere else, so I can't imagine they added anything except maybe more benzoyl alcohol or a bit of phenol, like someone else said.
 
Compounding places use bac water because the vials are for multiple uses over weeks. I think multi-use pens also use bac water, but single-use vials use sterile water to discourage people from stretching their doses. Brello does add a little b6, but that's unrelated.
 
I was looking up GLP-1 shelf life and found your post. I have 50mg and 30mg kits that I bought last year for long-term use. I thought I might need higher doses later. I'm using 4mg and 1mg now. I've gone three months on vials with no problems. But I'm not sure about seven+ months. I'm mostly worried about sterility. So, I might order more 10mg kits and freeze the others for emergencies.

True words, and another reason I like tirz.

I’ve kept it in the fridge after mixing it and didn’t see any loss of effect after 3 months. I haven’t done any freezing/thawing experiments, though.
