How to hit protein goals without living on protein shakes

Same struggle as a lot of people here, getting enough protein while sticking to a genuine calorie deficit is a real fight. Powders help somewhat, but sweets were never really appealing to begin with, so chugging flavored shakes all day loses its appeal fast, and most of the supposedly convenient options just turn out to be candy bars with a health label. Looking for practical ways to boost protein through supplements or something to snack on that doesn't come across as a dessert substitute.

Update: thanks for the input already, but to be more specific, the goal is adding somewhere around 40-60 extra grams daily without turning that into a whole extra meal. Cottage cheese and eggs are genuinely liked, but downing two big servings of cottage cheese or a triple portion of plain yogurt or a dozen boiled eggs in one sitting just isn't practical. Mainly hunting for plain, unsweetened powder options and other creative angles here.

Usually end up let down buying protein powder. Coffee's the one flavor I've basically given up hunting for a genuinely tasty version. They all come out tasting overly sweet somehow. Neutral options like vanilla or chocolate work best for me since you can customize them yourself with cocoa, cinnamon, actual coffee grounds, whatever.

The clear-style whey tasted a bit off to me at first, but mixing in electrolytes helped, along with switching to a battery-powered shaker since regular shakers create way too much foam with that type.

Casein works nicely before bed and honestly tastes better than whey to me most of the time. Grabbed a nighttime casein blend once though and the added supplements ruined the flavor.

Still, protein powder's been a genuine lifesaver since hitting my daily target through food alone just isn't realistic for me.
