Hunger creeping back after day 5?

Off mounjaro for 6 months. Hunger came back, some cravings crept in but I only give in once a week. Kept up portion control and healthy eating, lost another 20 lbs since march (had gallbladder out). You have to take control. Weight loss after stopping is possible.

VO2 max work sounds intense. Before I started, hard swimming + insulin resistance = carb cravings and weight gain. Might not be your issue but intense cardio wrecked me when I was still carrying weight and resistant. In active loss, I dialed way back on exercise to eat less easier. BMI 30 to 24 in ten months, now fine to add more movement back.

Month in on Mounjaro and doing fine - cravings are manageable. But hormones are a thing, and some days I want to demolish a pile of chocolate. Problem is after one piece I'm stuffed, and honestly chocolate doesn't even appeal anymore. Nice but also kind of sucks simultaneously lol.

my appetite drops off around day five so i pin every five days instead. keeps the appetite suppression solid. works for my body.

I switched between a couple different meds and noticed my hunger came back when I changed things up. One worked solid for a while, then the appetite crept back in. It's frustrating when your body adjusts. Sounds like you might need to find your sweet spot dose-wise, and jumping too fast makes sense to avoid side effects.

The pattern is typical for weekly shots - effect peaks in the first 2-3 days then tapers by day 5-7. Total appetite elimination isn't the goal anyway; managed hunger where you can make real choices is.

Structure everything around protein first. Coffee with heavy cream and a tiny bit of salt. Egg scrambles and cottage cheese. Protein-focused bowls from places like Chipotle. Shakes made with protein powder, beef jerky, hearty broths loaded with meat, grilled chicken paired with prepared salads. Skip items that interfere with hitting your protein target: refined carbs, desserts, excess sodium, deep-fried stuff. Stick to one sugar substitute daily. Stop eating at 6:30pm sharp - creates healthy morning appetite. Check out glycemic index food guides.

If I went into that stretch I'd never get out of bed - other issues would stack on top. Happy Baby pose works for me, or bringing my knees up while flat on my back. Prunes and probiotic apricots from Costco help a lot. Gets milder once your system adjusts after each bump.

The nausea-as-hunger signal takes a few weeks to recognize - it is counterintuitive. The 2-day queasy, 3-day good, then returning hunger pattern is the half-life cycling. Protein at wake-up breaks that cycle.

The cold feeling tracking shot timing is a recognized pattern - it tends to follow the absorption peak and usually settles over the first few cycles.

The day 6-7 hunger return tracks with the medication's half-life - serum levels trough before the next dose and the appetite signal comes back as concentration drops. The stress-eating piece is a different signal; the hunger-rating technique is solving a real but separate problem. If late-week is the consistent problem, injection day timing is the variable worth adjusting.
