Just wanted to share some good news. It's not *just* the medication. I had a gastric bypass back in '18, which took me from a high of 278 lbs down to about 205. Then, in 2022, I started gaining again, ending up at 235. I managed to drop around 17 lbs using some other methods, but then I stalled out at around 218 until April of last year.

Before the surgery, my A1c was above 7. When my doctor prescribed the GLP-1 med, it was 5.9. At my last appointment, it was down to 5.3!

So, it's taken me about 10 months to lose those 33 lbs I needed to get my BMI under 30! For context, I'm on around 1.3mg (prescription is for 2mg, but my stomach makes me increase doses VERY slowly, so I just count the clicks). I know the weight loss has been gradual, but I genuinely didn't think I'd ever see myself below 200 again, since I haven't been under that since I was a teenager (I'm 43)!

That's truly awesome! If you don't mind me asking, do you have excess skin? I'm curious if dropping, say, 75-85 lbs typically leads to loose skin?

That's amazing. I'm kinda starting down a similar road, but without surgery. I've been stuck between 230 and 240 for the last year or so, and I was in the 160s back in '16. That's where I need to be. I started the meds about two weeks ago when my A1c was 7.4. Good to hear things are working out for you (with lots of effort on your part, I'm sure!).

I'm just starting my gym journey this month, and I'm more excited than ever. I hope to make a transformation like some of you guys have. Amazing!

Hey Happy_Fixed851, regarding the loose skin question… it's definitely something I deal with, especially after the initial bariatric surgery. The GLP-1 med is helping to tighten things up a little, but it's still there. Hydration and strength training seem to help!
