I'm OFF the juice!

Well folks, it's happening! My final injection is scheduled for this Friday after a structured wind-down. I managed to shed somewhere around 65 pounds between April and early January. Since December, I've been carefully decreasing my dosage and the awesome thing is I have been able to hold the weight steady (no gains or losses since the start of January).

This medication has been transformative for me and my confidence has significantly improved. Now it's all about maintaining this progress, and I've learned a great deal about my body's signals during this journey. Good luck to everyone else on their path! You can do it!

First, huge congrats on your success! But, I gotta say something about the horseback riding picture... that horse looks like it has a really bad back. It's probably in pain. Often this is from riders who are too heavy or improper riding technique. The horse's entire posture is screaming distress. These animals are often mistreated. Holiday horseback riding is, IMO, even worse than elephant riding. Please reconsider doing that in the future. Other beings deserve respect too. They are not toys to be used and discarded. Sorry to be a downer, but animal welfare is really important to me.

Hey OP, did you just invent a new word? Haha! But seriously, you look fantastic! How did you avoid having a lot of loose skin?

I was NOT expecting the bikini pic on a horse! You go, girl! So thrilled for you 🎉🎈😊

Thanks! This is so inspiring!

But honestly, how do you manage to maintain the loss? Keeping to the same diet/lifestyle you had while on the medication? What's the trick haha?

Wow, just wow! You've done an amazing job! At what dose did the weight loss start happening for you? Will you be doing a maintenance dose? Thanks for the boost of motivation!

I think things really started moving around the 1mg mark. My plan is to come off completely, but I'm aware that a maintenance dose might be necessary down the line. I'm keeping a close eye on things.

Some people experience a return of hunger and cravings when they stop GLP-1 meds. It's worth remembering that obesity is often a chronic condition. Stopping the medication can bring you right back to where you started. It's like stopping blood pressure medication; if your blood pressure was still elevated, you wouldn't be able to stop, right?

I've been on this medication for years because of type 2 diabetes. It pretty much reversed it. I didn't struggle with intense cravings before, but I did notice that I was wanting all kinds of junk when I had to stop due to chemotherapy and steroids. The cravings started within a few weeks. Food noise is hard to ignore.
