Injections hurting more now?

69, on meds for blood pressure & diabetes. Did Mounjaro for 5 months—dropped 30 lbs, fasting sugar went from 132 to 90, BP down to 110/75. Combined it with intermittent fasting, cut carbs, more protein, exercise (walking, planks, hand weights). Biggest issue has been constipation.
 
The fat distribution shifting makes this a moving target - belly usually holds more cushion than thighs even as weight comes off, so rotating back toward the abdomen when thigh injections start hurting is the practical fix.
 
the abdominal site producing less systemic side effect burden is the experience that comes up consistently enough to be a real signal - the proximity to the gut and the absorption rate from abdominal tissue differs from thigh or arm injection, and for some people the rate of absorption is smoother from the belly. it is worth testing the site variable systematically before attributing side effect changes to dose or batch differences
 
Thigh is the most reliable spot for consistent depth and absorption. Some people find rotating between multiple thigh sites vs the same spot reduces the soreness that builds up over time. Worth trying the other thigh if you have been using the same one consistently.
 
Agreed completely. Everything I've read says to pinch the skin for subcutaneous shots, but I've got enough belly fat that there's no chance that tiny needle's reaching underneath it.
 
Said that plenty of times myself! Sometimes it genuinely feels like a bee sting depending on exactly where it lands. Aim for fattier tissue, and apparently pinching the skin isn't necessary either. Good luck!
 
Had four injections so far. Three of them I didn't feel at all. One gave the faintest little pinch, nothing painful really, though that one landed a little near some scar tissue.
 
Did the same thing with a glutathione shot in my thigh this week, ended up bleeding right after removing the needle, instant nasty bruise. Didn't feel any different from usual though, weirdly enough.
 
Question is whether it happens while the needle's going in or during the actual injection. Noticed mine really hurt while injecting. Then realized it was because I was pulling it straight from the fridge. The liquid was freezing cold against my warm body. That temperature gap caused real pain. It wasn't a cold sensation though, it was sharp. Ever since I let it sit out a few minutes beforehand, that problem's gone. Good luck
