Injector pens, who's using 'em?

I noticed some chat about this topic scattered around, so figured a dedicated thread could help. Who's using injection pens instead of syringes? I ended up purchasing a generic pen from an overseas site since it was the cheapest option. I sometimes travel for my job, and thought a pen might be simpler to bring along rather than vials and separate needles. I'm planning on getting a small thermos to keep it cool during my travels. Any recommendations for pens, or experiences with that generic one?

If you are injecting more than just one compound, you'll wind up with a bunch of pens. Some foreign sites offer decent prices on pens similar to those sold under other brand names.

A great thing about the Savvio pen, is if your vial is almost empty and you select a dose larger than what's left in the pen. It stops at the max that is left in the vial. For example, this morning I dialed up 25 units and it only allowed me to select 18, because that's all that was left in the cart. The v2 pens don't do that. Not sure about the Ergo.

I use my pen only for daily injections. I fly several times monthly and no one cares about vials and syringes. I was once asked what it was for and I said diabetes and they were no longer interested.

It depends on the concentration and dose, but yes, a quarter of 60 equals 15. I find the Ergo pen easy to use, inexpensive to purchase and store, and haven't had a single issue with it so far. I would gladly buy another one if needed.

I'm planning on putting 10mg in the pen, and want a dose of 2.5mg weekly. I'm just confused since UK pens seem to require 60 clicks for each injection.

Hold on there. How many ml of liquid are you adding to the cart? If you're only using 1ml of fluid in the cartridge (they hold 3ml max), then it'd require 25 clicks. Use a peptide calculator to be sure you're getting your dose correct. https://peptidecalc.com/

Thanks guys!

If I put 1ml in the pen, then 25 clicks will dispense a quarter because 1ml is 100 units. It makes way more sense now. I don't know what I was thinking before haha.

I'm curious - if someone doesn't travel and only injects once a week, why a pen instead of a regular syringe? I've been using compounded Tirz (7.5mg) for months and just ordered raw (30mg 10-vial kit). At my dose, the 30mg should last a month.

For me, it's just super easy adding the needle to the pen, dialing my dose, and injecting. I dislike using regular insulin needles because I always swap needles after drawing up the dose. I used to use luer lock 25g needles and switched them out, but that's a bigger needle (25g vs 31g) and creates more waste. Pens are just simpler.
