Injector pens, who's using 'em?

Can someone link the metal pen from a certain overseas site? I can't find it. It was called magic tattoo pen or something and cost $12-16. I already have the ergo but it takes more push to inject.
 
I noticed a lot of discussion about injection pens, but not much specific information about the cartridges. There are various cartridge options available to purchase online, but they don't seem to be sterile. How do you sterilize these?
 
Sterilization is a pretty involved process. To be done properly, you'd need to open them and cook them under pressure and steam. But honestly, it's probably not that important. I don't filter or sterilize the carts and haven't had any issues. The bacterial load is minimal and the risk with subcutaneous injections is low.
 
My new process from advice on another forum:

'wet' cycle in a pressure cooker autoclave, then drying at 280F for 2 hours. I push the plunger back in through the wrapper, then sterilize again with UV-C before use. Maybe overkill, but I store filled carts for over 4 weeks, so I want to avoid bacteria. I also filter the solution when filling carts.
 
Hey, a question for you world travelers! I'm going on vacation soon and trying to figure out how to handle the refrigeration thing. Anyone have tips? I'm only on week 3 of Tirz, so skipping a dose seems like a big deal.
 
Regarding travel JerseyGirl82, maybe take your shot right before you leave and then again right when you get back? If it's just a week, you could take the dose the day before you leave and then take your next shot when you return. So you wouldn't need to skip.
 
You could get a travel pouch for refrigerated meds. Some are water-activated, so you dunk it in cold water and the cooling beads keep it cold. They dry in a few days, so just put the meds in the fridge or reactivate the pouch. I've done multi-week trips like this and it works well.
 
Started 75kg height 161cm late Dec 2024 finished May 2025 losing 19kg in five months using two 1mg pens. Brother-in-law only lost 10kg in ten months so everyone's different. Really happy for you.
 
i'm old enough to know what works and what doesn't. been doing what doesn't for too long, sickening belly full of it. so tired of it. have to find a way to make this worth it because the clock's ticking. losing weight and fitness feel possible for the first time ever.
 
been on the fence about this for years. weight loss off-label plus the stigma made me hesitate. but here i am, first shot today at 0.25mg. nervous about headaches and nausea. hoping this is finally the unlock for my goal weight.
 
Got mild eczema for years. After my first 2.5mg Mounjaro shot in my stomach, the arm eczema cleared. Still had it on thighs. Last week injected left thigh and boom — healed in 5 days. Right thigh's still rough but now I'm wondering if location matters.
 
Here's a test I do: fill a 3ml pen with tap water, load it in your auto-injector, crank to 15 units. Use a standard insulin syringe to hit the vial, then press inject. If it draws 15, pen's good. If it's 10, 12, 25 — you know what to adjust.
 
Generic pens from overseas work fine for travel - temperature is the main variable, and a small insulated case handles most climates. Spare 28G needles are available at most pharmacies if traveling light.
