Insurance hassle, AGAIN!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Thankful I'm outside the American healthcare system, honestly puzzled how it got this broken. Pin it on pharma, insurers, whoever, I can't say. My brand-name Mounjaro prescription is around $260 monthly, dropping to about $26 after insurance. No hoops to jump through either. I saw my doctor, said I'm overweight, got looked over and agreed with, a few tests followed, and then, BAM, a prescription. No idea why America can't manage the same. Sure, cheaper unofficial options exist, but $26 is peanuts and buys peace of mind, imo.

Mine would not pay for it despite two decades of prediabetes and severe obesity. Several unrelated blood tests) showed higher glucose, so I called my PCP asking for an A1C ahead of my scheduled visit, and that FINALLY nudged the number high enough to count as diabetic. That let me begin a quarter-year earlier than my usual A1C check, so YAY. The sad part is I've spent YEARS trying to receive ANY weight loss med covered, and the only things I've been on were meds meant for other conditions used off label, and if I'd had them I never would have gotten diabetes and I'd sit at a far healthier weight now. I hope a Diabetes dx isn't your ticket in either, since that's brutal.
