Is it a bug, or did I overdo it?

I've been hit with a terrible stomach thing twice in the last couple of months. Both times, it happened after big family gatherings where I ate way more than usual. Think throwing up all night and feeling totally wiped out for a day or two after. Does anyone else have super intense symptoms after overeating, or am I just unlucky and catching something?

I thought I was dying after my friend's bachelor party because so much bacon and beer... but it was just a bug, tested positive the next day.

I agree with Riley1995 - sometimes, when your digestion slows down, things can get...backed up. Are you on any meds that might cause that? I've heard GLP-1s can cause some constipation issues if you're not careful.

Oh yeah, I've heard that too! My aunt takes Mounjaro, and she's always complaining about being stopped up. She says prunes help, lol.

To add to what Core_Fit mentioned, some medications used for weight management, like semaglutide, can indeed cause gastrointestinal side effects. These commonly include nausea, constipation, and sometimes, sulfur burps. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider for guidance.

My coworker complained about weird burps when she started sema.

I told her probiotics and yogurt! 🤷

Three weeks in at a microdose and I'm super excited—lost a few pounds, barely any side effects. But my stomach is bloating almost every day. Doc says it's normal and told me to eat small high-protein high-fiber meals and drink lots, which I'm doing. Still get this huge bloat though. What's going on?

my work touches gut stuff and I see a lot about how bad bacteria and endotoxins leaking into the bloodstream can cause all kinds of weird symptoms. no official consensus from government but research in the last decade is pointing at it. eating different types of fiber is pretty key.

sorry you went through that. just a heads up: MiraLAX isn't meant for daily use long-term. it can cause bleeding, cramping, or persistent diarrhea. max is really 7 days. try fiber instead—that's safe daily. definitely talk to your doctor about it.

Interesting thread. Quick questions: think SIBO might cause my LPR? Best way to test? Bloating and constipation since I was a kid, better now but still IBS when traveling. Started kefir and chia, big improvement in bowel movements. Probiotics right dose? Mixing kimchi helps?
