Is my weight loss too slow?

I've been kinda randomly checking my weight since starting this med, and the numbers aren't super consistent in terms of when I weigh in, sorry about that. Here's the deal so far. I see people talking about losing a TON of weight super fast, and I'm not sure if I'm just not doing something right? I know I could eat better, but honestly, with depression and disabilities, cooking is just not happening most days. I'm sure I'd drop weight faster if I ate all healthy foods, but is this pace TOO slow? Like, not even worth taking it anymore? Or should I stick with it? I haven't seen much difference, but someone mentioned I looked like I lost a bit, so maybe I just can't see it myself. I'm only 5'0", so I'm...pretty overweight for my height.

There's really no such thing as "too slow." It's not like there's a rulebook. Are you losing weight, making improved food choices, and getting healthier overall? Then that's a win!

I'm also a slow loser. But I've managed to lose around 35lbs in just over a year. As long as you're losing, I think we can't really complain. Of course, I'm jealous of the people who lose weight super fast as well. But any loss is a win! You're doing great. Slow and steady wins the race.

I had a similar experience for the first year and a half, and I've been able to maintain it (within about a 5-pound range) for the last two years. It didn't seem like a huge transformation at the time, but the way I look and feel now is completely different than when I first started.

There's no "good" or "bad" pace. It's not a competition. Losing weight quickly can actually be less healthy than losing it slowly. You're doing perfectly fine. It's not too slow.

People who are losing weight often don't notice the difference themselves. I don't either. But that doesn't mean you're not making progress.

Definitely stick with it.

It seems like a sustainable pace. I've been on GLP-1s since December 2022, and as of yesterday, I've lost a total of 110 pounds. It's been slow, but it's given me time to enjoy my new clothes, haha.

I can relate to that @Sub_Guy719. I'm a senior citizen, and I wish these meds had been around decades ago. My self-esteem would have been so much better!

As it is, I'm really happy to be down about 50 lbs! Only a few more to go. I've been on this medication for about ten months. I had been stuck on a plateau for around a month, but I just broke through it. It's strange experiencing pauses in weight loss. I guess our bodies just need a little time to adjust.

That's awesome progress @Kerry50! I've also heard from people that plateaus are normal, the body finding equilibrium. Breaking thru it is a great sign!

Loose skin is tough but way better than the health problems from extra weight. Spanx work, and time helps too. GHKcu does some real work beyond cosmetics if youre interested.
