IV fluids: Anyone doing this?

You planning on giving yourself an IV at home? I asked about this months back and got roasted. I saw bags online for like a hundred bucks! For saltwater!

You injected something you shouldn't have under your skin, and it severely damaged the tissue. If you had access to IV fluids and didn't know what you were doing, you probably would have seriously hurt yourself. I barely trust you to do this safely.

I can confirm the shortages ARE real. I'm an OR nurse and since around 2022 we've had times where we barely have enough for big cases. My hospital emails us updates on our fluid stock daily. You could probably find somebody who works at a clinic to help you source them.

Yeah, I've done them myself before. We used to do them in the military after hard training. One bag of sodium chloride, one banana bag, sleep for half a day and feel like new. I see them pretty cheap on some of these overseas sites, but I can't find a good MOQ. I'm trying to run glutathione and NAD+ and maybe ASTYMIN-3 and Vitamin C.

Ah, back in the day... ironing uniforms after a weekend of legal drugs and volleyball. A liter of saline and a banana bag made Monday mornings bearable! Those 18g needles weren't fun though. Be safe!

Not really, since there's a shortage they're being used way before they expire. But in vet med, we do some questionable things. The doctors will use expired stents if the package is sealed and undamaged. I remember when I was new, giving sterile water injections from bottles that were opened way earlier. I wouldn't do that anymore now that I'm better informed.

Be careful!! My friend was doing sema while partying on a cruise and had a bad reaction with just a few drinks. Could be risky to mix all of that.

Thanks for the heads up! So you're saying the GLP-1 makes alcohol stronger? I'll make sure to have a designated sober friend!
