My journey began years ago, around 2006. I was nearing 300 pounds. I'd struggled with weight since I was a kid. After a long battle, insurance approved my gastric band. I managed to drop to around 210-220, but I kept fluctuating within that 10-pound range. I just couldn't lose any more weight, no matter what I tried. Of course, I went through perimenopause and then menopause, which was awful and made weight loss even harder.

Even with that significant loss, my health kept declining. Last August, my A1c peaked at 10, and my doctor insisted I make changes and suggested a medication. I was hesitant, but I'm so glad I listened! My last bloodwork showed an A1c of 5.1. My cholesterol and triglycerides are NORMAL. I'm off blood pressure meds now. I was on 2000mg of Metformin and 4mg of another diabetes med daily, but now I'm only on 500mg of Metformin. My doctor might take me off that next time.

During those years of obesity, I also had terrible Plantar Fasciitis and took an anti-inflammatory every day, and still suffered. A few months ago, I realized my feet don't hurt anymore, even after long days and gym visits. No more need for that med! I don't know when I'll reach my goal weight, but I'm close. So close!

Sorry for the long post, but I can't praise this med enough. I'm so grateful for the life I have ahead of me.

I went from a size 20 to a size 14! It feels incredible. I don't have to hide my body under baggy clothes anymore. But honestly, I think clothing sizes are just made up to mess with women's heads. You can grab three pairs of the same size and they all fit differently!

Anyway, rant over. You're doing great, congrats! ❤️

Congrats! 🎉 That's an incredible accomplishment. I was at my highest -- 317 -- in 2012. Got down to 260 and stayed there for 12 years. This morning, I weighed in at 245.

This journey is really only understood by those of us who've been there. 🩷

Even packing for trips changes! I can fit so much more into a carry-on now that I'm not a size 18. It's wild!

I often shop at a high-end consignment store near my house. I'm there a couple times a month. A 'regular'!

Last week I was there and the owner yelled out, 'You're in the wrong section!' I was confused. 'Excuse me?'

She said, 'You need the medium rack now! Not large! Smaller and smaller!'

She was the first person to notice my 15-pound loss (out of 65 to go).

As I started losing weight, I found a pair of jeans on a website for like $15. I'm on my third pair now, and they're getting loose. It's awesome! Plus, my skin problems have cleared up.

I love your post! I struggle every day because I'm scared I'll be someone who doesn't lose weight on this medication. It's more than weight loss, though! Blood pressure, Metformin, fatty liver! I want to fix everything, but it takes time. Great job!

Congratulations!!! 🥳🥳 If I ever get close to a size 6 from my current 20/22, I wouldn't know what to do. I'm glad you mentioned Plantar Fasciitis; I'm dealing with it now. Now that you said that, the pain isn’t as intense as it used to be, and I hope it goes away completely. Thanks for sharing! I loved the 'ramble.' 🫶🏾🎉

I'm so happy for you! It's awesome that you're able to stop taking so many medications! And no more foot pain! Fantastic. We all get it! Forget the haters! My weight loss is slow, but it's happening! It's amazing to grab jeans you've had for years that were always too tight and just slip right into them. You made my day!!

I had a similar experience with a pair of rain boots I bought a few years ago. I couldn't even get them on over my calves back then. Now they fit! I'm so excited that I can FINALLY wear them.

I keep buying clothes that are too big and having to return them 😝
I know the feeling!

It's amazing what the medication can do, but it's also important to remember that it's a tool. I've found that tracking my food, doing intermittent fasting, and walking more have all helped me too. Plus, meditation helps keep me calm. Everyone's journey is different!

32s fit me perfectly honestly, I just don't have any curves down there lol. Which is kind of funny considering how many people seem to think I'm annoying!
