Just started Oz... fingers crossed!

Hey everyone,

So I finally got my hands on the Ozempic pen. First injection down! Did 0.25 mg in my belly after reading all the directions.

It kinda burned for a few, but it went away fast.

I'm so stoked to get back into weight loss. I managed to drop 45 lbs back in 2023, but I've been stuck ever since. Currently at 350 lbs and aiming for 260-280 lbs, depending on how I feel when I get there.

This is such a big moment for me. I've wanted to try this for ages.

Hope this works out!

Before Ozempic, I'd easily eat 3000 calories daily.

Yesterday, I barely hit 2100. I had to force down food. I struggled to finish a freakin' bowl of soup because my appetite was gone. It was super weird since I normally eat everything so easily.

I had some gross burps, a little nausea, and some heartburn after that soup. It disappeared after a nap. Felt fine when I woke up.

Best of luck on your journey! I'm ten months in and down about 40 lbs. It affects everyone differently, but most people see some kind of results.

I had my first injection a month ago. I've lost almost 8 pounds in 30 days. I think this was one of the best life decisions I've ever made. I do burp a lot and go to the toilet like 4-5 times a days. But these things are worth the amazing results.

Like you, joining a support group right at the beginning was one of the smartest things I did.

My start was rough, really rough, but the advice and support I found in the group were incredibly helpful.

I hope you have the same experience :)

Hey, sorry I'm late to the party, but I also started two days ago. Seeing as this post was like a week ago, I assume you are getting ready to take take your second shot.

Do you sense any changes or even placebo effects? I feel full quicker, but also my hungry episodes don't appear when I know I am hungry.

My first shot was on Wednesday because that's when it was delivered. I'm planning to do it every Tuesday evening so the worst side effects are gone by the weekend when I want to have a couple of beers. Even if I can't drink as much, that's okay. As long as two beers don't make me sick. Well, here I am on Friday night, and I'm on my fifth beer in three hours (very slow). It's like my stomach has a limit. I'd usually be a few more beers deep by now.

It's okay. It's all going to be okay. Half the reason I started was to drink less. But I still want to drink once a week! Which is why I picked Tuesdays for my shot. It's just a new chapter... My health is more important.

EDIT: Also, felt a little sick for the first few beers, but it's gone now. Not my first time drinking.

I saw someone mention focusing on protein and fiber. I've been reading about that too! Trying to hit at least 100g of protein and 25g of fiber daily, but honestly, it's kinda hard when you don't want to eat much.

Wow, that's intense. It's so important for people to understand everyone reacts differently. Always be aware of mental health changes, too. If you feel off, talk to your doctor ASAP.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm trying to drink a ton of water because I heard dehydration is a thing. Also trying to get more protein in. Any tips on how to get protein when you don't feel like eating?

Protein shakes are your friend! I find them way easier to get down than solid food when my appetite is suppressed. Also, Greek yogurt!
