Just took my first shot! Eeeek!

It's done! I injected myself. My hands were shaking so badly. It took me what felt like forever to actually push the button. But it was painless! Hoping this works for me. Super excited about what's to come!

Those first-time shot jitters are definitely a thing. Most people don't notice huge improvements right away. It usually takes a few days. So be patient!

If you're around my height, my start and goal weights were similar! I started at 222 on New Year's Eve 2024 and was at 162 on New Year's Eve 2025! It works if you stick to it!

Adding to @Chris02's excellent advice: hydrate like it's your job! Seriously, lots of water and electrolyte drinks daily. Also, eat slowly and stop before you feel totally stuffed. And, preemptively manage constipation with a bowel regimen if you notice any issues. This guide is helpful.

Started 0.25mg for one month, moved to 0.5mg and took my seventh injection at that dose. Mild side effects overall - some initial nausea and a couple headaches, both improved quickly. Had one unusual migraine with aura. Everyone responds uniquely. Most important: track your symptoms and talk regularly with your doctor. Majority encounter mild effects, but if symptoms are severe, other treatments exist.

The shaky hands on the first shot are universal - the anticipation is usually worse than the injection itself. Stomach is the standard starting site but if nausea runs high in the first few days, thigh or upper arm tends to reduce GI response for some people.

I'm also needle-phobic, but for me it's not the pain itself - more the idea of poking myself with a needle that gets to me. I clean my stomach area, pinch the skin, position the needle, and shut my eyes. Then I just force myself and push it in quickly. Can't open my eyes during the injection, that makes everything worse. I've had my fifth shot now and my technique hasn't really changed, but I'm much faster and barely anxious anymore on injection day. That first shot is definitely the mental hurdle. Once you clear that, it becomes way simpler.

Ginger gummies have been a total game-changer for the nausea, honestly. Found out from a friend and it's made shot day way less dreadful now.

on my 9th injection now, 2+ months in, one weekly. started at 550 and i'm down to 522 as of last week. can't wait to crack 400s. any suggestions on nutrition and training plans?

Got my first injection 48 hours back at the lowest dose and I'm randomly tearing up for absolutely no reason. Is this normal or am I losing my mind? Could be hormones too I guess but wow, this came out of nowhere.

You did it! The anticipation is always worse than the actual shot. Stay hydrated the next few days, especially if nausea shows up. Week 2 is easier. Welcome.

That 'less' description is how a lot of people put it initially. The absence of something is harder to describe than its presence, and before the first shot most people don't realize how much background noise there was because it's been constant for so long. Whether what you felt at 24h was placebo or real receptor response, the fact that you noticed something so quickly is a good sign. Most find it builds over the first 2-3 weeks into something undeniable. The first shot is always the biggest psychological hurdle and you're already past it.
