Knockoff Ozempic = Insulin?!

What do you mean "sort out their supply chains?" It's the counterfeiters who are slapping Ozempic labels on insulin pens, and pharmacies buying from unapproved sources. That's not the manufacturer's fault.

Yeah, if a pharmacy is getting stuff from shady sources, they should test it first! Send a sample to a peptide testing lab, there are easy ways to check now.

From the news story that was linked, which is pretty recent:

"The FDA is aware of a handful of reports linked to that specific lot of seized pens, however, the reports don't seem connected to the fake pens. The FDA and the maker of Ozempic are running tests on the fakes to check if they are safe. The real deal can cause stomach upset, so it's hard to know if these reports are typical side effects."

The article makes it sound like real Ozempic was stolen. Plus, how long does it take to test these things? Seems like they should have an answer pretty quickly.

I heard the Canadian generic version is delayed. My pharmacist said it was supposed to arrive mid-December, but now it's pushed back. I wonder what's causing the holdup?

From what I've read, the Canadian regulatory agency wants the generic to be an exact copy of the original. Some companies had to resubmit their applications because they didn't nail the formula perfectly. It's gotta be bioequivalent!

I hope so! I have insulin resistance, and a low dose of semaglutide has been life-changing. Paying almost a grand every couple of months is rough, but it's the only thing that's worked after years of dealing with this. I'm glad someone is trying to do something about it.
