Totally with you on this! I suspect the manufacturer set their dosing schedule to maximize weight-loss numbers for marketing purposes while keeping it just gradual enough to avoid a high dropout rate. These trials cost so much that I doubt there's much incentive to test a slower titration schedule that might actually feel better for most people.
Genuinely frustrating, because mentioning to my pharmacy that I only wanted to inject half the amount printed on my pen would probably get my prescription pulled entirely. Kind of absurd that wanting to take LESS medication rather than more would be a problem, that should logically be safer. And it's obvious from reading through these forums that the ideal amount and pace varies enormously between people. Side effects genuinely wreck some of us. Wish more public discussion addressed that instead of just writing the whole drug class off entirely.
