Lost 20 pounds!

Hey everyone, I wanted to celebrate a small victory. I've been taking semaglutide for about 2 and a half months, going up by five units every couple weeks, starting at 5. I just bumped up to 30 units today, and everything is going well! I should have taken before pics, but I didn't think of it. I did do a body composition scan though, so I can share those measurements if anyone wants. Even without pictures, I feel a big difference, and it's keeping me motivated. I'm looking forward to continuing this! If you're thinking about trying it, or already taking semaglutide, keep going – it's working for me!

I'm all for positive vibes! But posting this here might get some pushback. Sharing weight loss when you already have a slim figure might come across the wrong way. Most people here are dealing with significant weight issues or obesity. Or sadly cant even access the meds. I know that in other countries, like the UK, semaglutide is more accessible through private treatments. It's a last resort for many, and some celebrities are using it just to drop a few pounds. This forum is more for people who genuinely struggle with weight and need it for health reasons.

I wanted to address some of the comments and give some context. I survived ovarian cancer, and at 37, I'm now in post-menopause. After treatment, I gained about 45 pounds really quickly. It was a hard time – I was depressed, stress-eating, drinking more, and couldn't lose the weight no matter what I tried. The extra weight caused inflammation, and I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. My doctor suggested semaglutide for health reasons, and I'm paying for it myself. It's quieted the constant cravings, helped me cut back on drinking, and I'm starting to feel like myself again. Everyone's journey is different, and this is my success story. I appreciate the support and wanted to share my experience with others. Thanks for understanding, and good luck to everyone!

Locking the thread. People are arguing whether this person has a valid reason to use the medication. That's not what we do here.

I just started Ozempic on Wednesday at 0.25, and I've already lost around 5 pounds! I wanted to take Mounjaro, but my insurance wanted me to try Ozempic first. I'll be on 0.25 for a month and then 0.50 for two weeks. Fingers crossed it works! The constant need to pee is real, and the nausea isn't too bad. The food noise is definitely gone. I'm drinking tons of water because of it - my A1C is 8.9, and I'm aiming for 5.9.

For those asking, when I say 'units' I am referring to the markings on the syringe I use to draw the medication. My apologies for the confusion!

I started sema a few months ago and it has been a wild ride. It's amazing how much it changes your relationship with food. I am finally starting to enjoy shopping, now I choose clothes I look good in, not just how they hang lol.
