Okay, so here are my stats:
Height: 5'6"
Starting around January 13, 2025
Starting Weight: 174 lbs
Goal Weight: 132 lbs
Current Weight: 123 lbs

I know I didn't have a TON to lose but I'm seriously thrilled with how easy it's been, so I wanted to share my experience.

I have PCOS and initially started on a GLP-1 med to shed some pounds, but also to tackle my insulin resistance. What's been amazing is how it's also helped with chronic inflammation, those awful fatigue spells after sugar, and my blood pressure is finally in a healthy range. I'm planning to keep going, but I think I'll dial it down to the lowest dose that keeps the health benefits without any more weight loss. (Gonna miss the girls though! Might need a little boost in that department later on, haha.)

I began with 0.25mg, but only for a couple of weeks. Then, I slowly went up, splitting the dose into two injections each week. I was on 0.5mg (split) for a month, then 0.75mg (split) for another month. For the last two months, I've been on 1mg weekly.

Honestly, the side effects have been super mild – just some occasional light nausea the day after my shot. I do get really sleepy on injection day, like 10-14 hours of sleep. Also, I've had some weird nerve pain that feels like sunburn, popping up in different places.

I can eat all the same foods as before, but the weirdest thing is I seem to handle dairy better now (and I'm lactose intolerant!). I used to have a pretty good diet, like 90% whole foods and maybe one day a week where I'd go crazy with junk food and candy. I've been fairly slim most of my life but packed on some weight with hormone changes and a less active life.

Now that I'm on this medication, I eat all the same stuff, but without the junk days. I've lost interest in most candy, sugary drinks, and fast food. I think my diet, which is high in fiber and protein with lots of fermented foods, has probably saved me from major tummy troubles. I've been surprised at how well I can handle rich foods when they're cooked with healthy fats. I still LOVE food and eating, just more focused on quality over quantity. I still have a drink now and then, usually wine or beer.

Other things I take: my ADHD meds boost my metabolism, but the weight loss only started AFTER I started taking this GLP-1 med. I also started taking myo-inositol supplements and magnesium at night. I add electrolytes and protein isolate to my water and drink at least 3 liters a day. I also take a fiber gummy a few times a week, but mostly try to get my fiber from food.

You looked amazing before, and you look fantastic now. As a woman, I totally get the boob thing – and even though you didn't ask, you still have great boobs! Do whatever makes you happy, but plenty of people pay for the boobs you have now. Just saying.

Down 40+ lbs since January? That's amazing! I've lost that much since last fall and I'm hoping to lose another 40+ by late fall. Here's to success and consistency. I'm starting to add workouts into my routine. Whenever I don't feel like it, I remember that I'm building trust in myself by showing up for myself. It's helped me get a lot of things going, little by little. Thanks for sharing your story!

Thanks for sharing this. I'm also around 175lbs, similar height, and I have PCOS. I had Gestational Diabetes twice, and my glucose is always "high normal" when I get it tested.
I take Vyvanse for my ADHD. I just had my first injection tonight. After being overweight my whole life, and losing/gaining over and over, I'm just so tired of the struggle. I'm hoping this can give me some peace.
