Lost 55lbs in 4 months - keep going?

I'm really happy with how far I've come, but I still feel like I have that 'soft' look. Should I keep taking Ozempic, try to maintain my current weight, or maybe go down on the dosage? I'm super worried about gaining the weight back if I stop, since Ozempic has completely quieted all those food cravings I used to have. I even tried stopping for about a week, and I gained like 4-5 pounds really fast.

It's time we start thinking of obesity as a long-term health issue, not just a quick fix. If you were on medication for high blood pressure and it went back to normal, would you just stop taking the meds? No way, because you know it'll go right back up. It's the same thing here. Of course you gained weight back when you stopped because it's an ongoing condition and you stopped the treatment. As for what to do next, you should definitely talk to your doctor about whether to lower your dose or stay where you are.

You're doing great! I would suggest doing some strength training and less cardio. That'll really help with definition! You've come this far, now finish strong!

I dropped almost 40 pounds once, then went off the meds for my vacation (plus, they cost a fortune, like $500 every month). I gained all the weight back, and even more, because I didn't really learn anything about diet and healthy eating...

You're looking awesome! If you're feeling 'soft', maybe lower your dose to a maintenance level or take your shots a few days further apart. Then, focus on weightlifting to build muscle and reduce body fat.

Agreed. It's about managing a chronic condition, not just chasing a number on the scale.

I've been on a low dose for quite a while now (almost a year and a half) and have lost about 45 pounds. I'm hoping to lose like another 35-40 pounds. I tried going to 1mg, but that felt unhealthy for me. So I went back to 0.75mg. I think going slow and steady is the way to go!

Thanks for this! It's helpful to hear from someone who's been on it for a while. I'm thinking I might try to stay on a lower dose instead of stopping completely.

I've been on Mounjaro for a little under a month. I'm eating less because it's Ramadan, and so far I'm not really having any side effects besides some mild nausea and a touch of constipation. I'm trying not to obsess over the scale. I'm more focused on how my clothes fit.
