Hello everyone it’s been some time since I’ve updated about my progress on Mounjaro. I got the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes during summer of 2022. My weight was highest at 253. I was immediately prescribed metformin to reduce my A1C, it was 8.2. The metformin helped bring my A1C down and I lost some weight too. I started taking Mounjaro in June of this year when my weight was 219. I’m currently 165, 12 pounds away from my goal. I’ve lost almost a total of 90 pounds. I've lost close to 55 pounds since starting Mounjaro. I cannot explain how proud I am. I never thought I would reach this stage. I still find it difficult to think that I’ve come so far. I still see the old me in that first image but I know I’m the person in the most recent photo. I struggle with body dysmorphia but I’m working through it. I am thankful to have gone on this journey, particularly with all of you. You give me courage and I feel privileged to be a member of this community. Thank you for following my journey with me and good luck! We’ve got this! ❤️❤️😘

I know right?? I also have trouble not grabbing the largest size and still don’t know what others think. Another obstacle, but it’ll get easier. This forum and other stories are really helpful. Your message is positive, congrats on your progress!

I was diagnosed with Type 2 this week. Do you still need meds now that you’re in remission and did you stop eating rice and potatoes?

Congratulations! Stories like these are really motivating to someone who has just began. And I love the overalls!

I still take a very low dose of metformin. My doctor is monitoring and hopes I can get off all meds soon. As far as diet, I'm eating everything in moderation. If I want a potato, I have one. I try to make healthy choices but don't deprive myself.

I've been on a similar journey but with a different med for my type 2. It's been about 13 months, and my A1C is so much better! I've dropped about 40 pounds. Not only do I feel better physically, but psychologically I feel great too!

High five!! It's awesome when you feel good inside and out.

It is important to remember that even with medication, diet and exercise are important. Having a partner to help with lifestyle changes is invaluable.
