Lost weight TOO fast?

Just wanna make it super clear, I'm not saying anyone should get on this stuff super young. I probably didn't need it based on my weight, and it caused a lot of issues.

If you're looking into this because you're thinking about starting, here's what happened because of my age and weight:

1: No desire to eat *anything*.
2: Super easily queasy (even the thought of fries made me wanna puke).
3: Each time I went up a dose, I'd throw up for days – the worst was when I upped to 12mg, I was sick for over a week. My poor dad had to watch me eat, and I had to hide when I'd throw it all up later. (It was just bile after a couple of days – so much stomach acid!)

Basically, the side effects made me lose the pounds so fast. I went down a dress size pretty much every month.

I'm way happier now, but it was a rough ride, and I should've been nicer to my body.

No offense intended, but if that's the 'after' pic, I'm not sure you're really 119lbs. You look great, but I'm not seeing a massive difference.

Also, @FidgetQueen, you mentioned 12mg. Are you absolutely sure you were on Ozempic? The highest dose for that is only 2mg! Maybe it was Mounjaro? Even if you were on the highest Ozempic dose, those side effects would be brutal. It's weird that a doctor would prescribe that much.

You're super pretty, but I can't tell which pic is before and which is after. I don't see the huge weight difference you mentioned. Maybe some better pics?

Those side effects aren't just for young people - I get all of those, plus some extra issues on the other end, like once a week lol. Awesome progress though!! I'm 34 and went from 340lbs to 200lbs in the last 2 years. Increased my dose a month and a half ago and already lost another 20lbs.

Honestly @Ready I could be misremembering the dosage amount!! It was a while back, but I remember the throwing up part for sure. Maybe it was Mounjaro? I just know it was a pen

To anyone going through a rough patch with these meds: I was ready to quit a while back because of stomach pain, sulfur burps, and feeling super tired. It's a personal choice if the side effects are too much, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

After over a year, I'm at a weight I'm happy with. I'm on a low dose that keeps me from overeating, but I can still eat enough to get back to weightlifting. Don't give up without giving it a real shot!

I saw someone online with a reaction like that. If it keeps happening, definitely stop the shots and maybe try an antihistamine or topical steroid. If it's a serious reaction, you might need an epi-pen if you try another med from the same family.

Doing half-mg twice weekly and hitting plateaus. Bumped to 1.5 once was rough on me. Holding steady where I am, gonna creep up super slow. Gotta manage the side stuff before chasing speed. I've only got 5 lbs left and I'm petite, so results vary. The waves up and down aren't my favorite thing.

couldn't do dose 3 yesterday. the nausea and puking at night is making me miserable, plus the burping and feeling like there's an air bubble stuck up there all the time. tried pepcid, tums, light meals, sipping water—rules everywhere and nothing's working. how do people tough this out?

These aren't addictive in the traditional sense, but rapid weight loss can hit hard with nausea, fatigue, appetite loss—especially stacked with depression and isolation. Might be worth asking docs to look at the whole picture, not just one med.

drank tons of water, had protein shakes, crackers. first week nausea was awful - couldn't eat or get out of bed. second shot was 3 days of nausea and fatigue. it's messing w/ my mental health meds too. down 8 lbs in 3 weeks.

I used to do my shot in the morning and spend the rest of the day fighting nausea. Switched to nights a couple hours before bed like two months ago and I haven't had any issues. Worth a try if mornings aren't working for you.

was super fatigued my first week, bit of nausea on day 1. staying hydrated really helped even though i hate drinking water when nauseated. barely had side effects after week 1!
