Low dose maintenance? Anyone else?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
The question is whether you want to hold steady or drop those extra pounds that crept back. That's why your previous dose matters so much. If 2mg isn't your maintenance sweet spot, go back to what was working for weight loss, then adjust down gradually until you find where your body levels out.

The lowest effective dose for maintenance is the right target - drug burden goes down, cost goes down, and most people find their floor is well below their active-loss dose. Step down gradually and watch where the hunger baseline stabilizes.

Low dose maintenance works for a subset - the challenge is that the effective maintenance dose is individual and often higher than expected.

Low dose maintenance is underrated - the assumption is always 'go up' but there's a real group of people who hold where they need to at 0.5mg or lower and don't have a compelling reason to push further. The drug is doing what it's supposed to.

The body resisting the new set point and wanting to return to the old pattern is real - it's not imagination, it's actual metabolic pressure. Finding the lowest dose that holds you there is exactly the right question. Low-dose maintenance beats stopping cold and spending six months fighting the rebound.

the step-down-to-lowest-dose path for maintenance before stopping seems to produce better outcomes than cold stop at the therapeutic dose - the gradual reduction gives the appetite regulation system time to partially compensate. the wine and exercise pattern she settled into sounds like exactly the kind of low-friction maintenance that actually holds long term

No issues at all for me over the past year, the last few months at the 2.4 dose. Lost close to 40 pounds total, went from 102 kilos down to 84.

Thanks, that's helpful! Between the visible changes and no negative side effects, I'm pretty confident sticking with this. Figured giving it a couple months makes sense anyway considering how low the dose is.

Thought maintenance basically meant just holding steady at your current dose? You could also try spacing doses out to every 10 days instead of the usual 7.

Lucky you're responding well at low amounts, ride that out as long as possible. Only bump to 0.5 once side effects stay away and weekly loss drops under a pound across a full month.

Would suggest sticking with the smallest amount that still gets the job done for you, OP! Otherwise side effects become more of a risk. Best of luck and congrats!

Staying put at 15mg for maintenance. Working really well for me. Not dropping the dose when it's already doing its job this well. Curious why you'd want to lower yours?
