Low libido on GLP-1s?

I've been taking Ozempic since last summer. The changes have been great - no food cravings, better A1c, losing weight, and my mood is better. But one thing...My sex drive is way down. I used to want sex all the time, but now it’s like twice a week at most. Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions?

I think it's connected to the way it reduces cravings in general – like it's dampening desire across the board, not just for food.

Ozempic effects hormone levels. Insulin is one, but also androgens. Androgens heavily influence libido. Balanced levels are key regardless of gender. I started metformin a while ago, which also regulates hormones, and my sex drive took a dive. I'm newly on Ozempic too, so I don't know if it'll get worse. I used to be always in the mood. Now it's barely there. But I'll take this over other problems.

The key is to maintain muscle mass through adequate protein intake, focus on cardiovascular fitness, and get your hormone levels checked. It's not gone forever; these things can help bring it back.

these meds help with way more than just weight. heart, kidneys, blood sugar control—new research coming out all the time. honestly worth looking into what's actually been proven.

Mine has vanished entirely. I used to enjoy it a lot. Not missing it that much though.
That's interesting. I wonder if it's just a trade-off some of us are willing to make? Like, less food noise, less desire overall?

at 2-3 lbs per month and been on this for 18+ months now. if i stick to 1300-1400 calories, the scale moves eventually, takes a few weeks though. was easier at the start! i'm hungry but just sitting with it. can't go lower without messing up nutrition.

Started at 30, 5'10", pcos and insulin resistance, 250lbs. Hit 145lbs in 1.5 years, stayed there. Never maxed out dose—stopped at second-highest, kept it for maintenance. Metformin too (started 2 months in). You can do this.
