Low T dose + GLP's: good or bad?

Anyone here on TRT and also using GLP-1 meds? I'm on a pretty conservative T dose, maybe 30-60mg weekly, not trying to bulk up or anything. Just wondering if the T might be working against the GLP-1's effects.

I actually started TRT and tirz at the exact same time, about a year back, based on what my doc suggested. What do you mean by 'counteracting'? I haven't seen any negative interaction. I'm on 100mg test e per week and was on 5mg tirz max. I dropped around 45 lbs, kept the muscle, and didn't even go to the gym. I'm 5'7" and now 155. My bad cholesterol was crazy high before, and I had liver issues. Now my cholesterol is way better, and the liver is fine. Happy to help if I can, just not sure what you're looking for.

Are you a super responder or something? Because 30-60mg of T is REALLY low for most guys. Do you get bloodwork? Do you know your total and free T levels?

But to answer your question, True_Pizza, TRT for someone with low T getting them into a healthy range shouldn't counteract the GLP-1s. Actually, it should help retain muscle mass, which helps with weight loss.

Haha, thanks PulseRoad! I feel like a totally different person. Starting TRT was a hard decision because my total T was in the normal range (about 400), but my free T was barely above the very low end. So glad I started it. I feel so much better. And tirz is a game-changer. I lost most of my weight on just 2.5mg/week! It stopped the cravings for junk food.

Test and GLP-1's are a killer combo for getting lean and muscular. Test helps build muscle, and GLP's put you in a calorie deficit and have a bunch of other perks for cutting fat.

I never needed more than 5mg of my GLP. Started last Dec, hit my goal by summer (225 to 160). Maintaining at 5mg now and increasing my food intake, not the dose.

I don't know if you are male or female, but I've been digging into testosterone shots for perimenopause symptoms. Everything I've read about T in women points to it aiding in fat loss, so I'd assume it helps, not hurts, the GLP-1's progress.

I felt like when I was taking higher amounts of T, I was drastically hungrier, and I was trying to stay in a deficit. So it felt like the test was fighting the GLP meds.

Are you male or female, True_Pizza? I believe 20mg/wk is generally the max recommended T dose for women. It's said that's about a tenth of the male dose. Was your free T low on your blood tests? I'm hoping to start testosterone soon and really don't want to feel ravenous, lol. My appetite finally feels normal on GLP1s.

Ah, I can see how that would feel like a step backward True_Pizza. I had a similar experience with another peptide – the increased hunger was a big downside. I can't ignore those hunger pangs, even if it's a sign of increased metabolism. I ate my way to a high BMI, and I don't want to repeat that.

I've also heard about guys who take HCG to maintain fertility while on TRT. Anyone have thoughts on HCG and if it's affect is lessened when you add in other things, like nandrolone? I'm on 100mg test a week, and maybe 2000 units of HCG. I've heard rumors that adding 100mg of nandrolone can cause your testicles to shrink even with the HCG. Just curious if anyone else has similar experiences or knows of a test to measure how well your testes are working.

To be clear True_Pizza, nandrolone is suppressive. It absolutely will lower LH and FSH, the hormones that tell your testes to produce testosterone. So yes, it can absolutely counteract the effects of HCG on testicular size and function.

Ok, slightly different direction: Has anyone tried sermorelin with ipamorelin, maybe stacked with HCG and clomid? I'm thinking of going off TRT for a bit and trying that combo to give my body a rest... Wondering if it can help boost T levels higher.

Separate compounds let you fine-tune each one independently. If you get a blend you're locked into whatever ratio they decided on, which might not match what your body needs.

BP management on these things is tricky. Swapping between different meds to find what your body tolerates is smart - your doctors sound like they get it and aren't dogmatic about one approach.

I just caught it - he said 1 mg taken every single day. That basically gives him a steady level around what you'd see from an 8 mg shot per week. Still, low dose could definitely be holding him back.

Awesome work, you're crushing it. Your way of talking about it with friends is totally legit. It's your story, your rules. And honestly, rumors beat nothing. Also tell them 'too bad, my shots aren't that bad'.
