Lowering Reta Dose - Still Losing?

Anyone ever dial back their dose and keep losing weight?

I've been taking 10mg of Reta each week. I was traveling for about a week and a half and missed my dose. Now I'm thinking of trying 5mg when I restart, just to save money and make my supply last longer.

Has anyone had a similar experience and still lost weight with a smaller dose?

Thanks!

I have! But the loss is slower, which is fine by me. I'm not super strict about my tirz dose. I'm still figuring out what works. Sometimes 7.5mg feels like too much, other times it's perfect. If it feels like too much, I'll drop down to 6mg or even 5mg next time. I'm not trying to lose weight super fast, so it's working okay.

I've been on tirz for around 9 months. I did stall for maybe 5 weeks, but I was just glad I wasn't gaining. Then I suddenly lost a few pounds. I did increase my protein intake and started lifting weights more.

I'm on 10mg of Ozempic right now and I'm planning on cutting back to 5mg. It's really expensive, and I think I can keep the weight off at 5mg. I've been keeping a close eye on my blood sugar since starting, and I'll need to keep doing that if I lower the dose to make sure my weight and blood sugar are stable.

As a new member, I should introduce myself. I'm Mari, and I joined because I'm using GLP-1 meds for both weight loss and blood sugar. I'm all about safe medication practices and harm reduction, and I want to learn from others and share my own story responsibly.

The cost savings would be really helpful for me, and based on how I've adjusted meds before, I think the lower dose could still work and be more affordable.

I dropped from 2mg/week to 1mg/week and was still losing the same amount. But I didn't start reta because I was overweight. I wanted to cut a few percentage points of body fat since I'm a bodybuilder. It, plus some GH peptides, worked great for body recomposition.

I must be really sensitive to reta sensitivity because 2mg/week messed up my diet and put me in a pretty scary deficit (like 700-800 calories less than I needed for a cut) for a month before I decided to reduce the dose. Now I can eat almost as much as I need and still get the other benefits. At least I kept my muscle mass while eating so little.

I've heard some people actually do better on lower doses! Saw someone online say their doctor rushed them through dose increases when they were still losing on a lower dose. Makes sense to stay put until you plateau!

To @Sweat_Go and everyone, it's so important to listen to your body and work closely with your doctor to find the right dosage. GLP-1 medications affect everyone differently. What works for one person might not work for someone else. I'm curious, has anyone experienced any vitamin deficiencies while on these medications? I understand that could potentially impact appetite and overall well-being.

Good point about individual responses, @Nikki_92. I'm hoping a lower dose will be just as effective for me, especially since I've already seen results at 10mg. It's all about finding that sweet spot, right?

I wonder if there's like, a resistance thing happening for some people at higher doses? Like I saw someone mention a podcast where a doctor said some people might get resistance at higher doses, and a lower dose works better for them. So weird!

Yes, @Jamie09, if you use less bacteriostatic water to reconstitute the peptide, it will be more concentrated, meaning you'll be injecting less volume for the same dose. The overall effect should be the same as long as you're accurately measuring the dose.

maybe dial back the dose or space it out more? eating smaller meals throughout the day might help too. intermittent fasting and blood sugar dips don't mix well in my experience either.

Don't rush! Why jump up so fast? I've been taking 0.5 every other week for ten weeks and I'm still dropping pounds. No need to race ahead.

My stomach's been my go-to spot too. Rotating around the navel helps but the scars still show up eventually. Down from 322 to 264 now and the old stretch marks don't care how careful you are with injections.

After four weeks I'm down 4 pounds. Not dramatic but I'll take it. I'm not in crazy calorie restriction and still getting to enjoy things. Dropping five pounds weekly is intense unless you've got a lot to lose. Thinking about bumping to 0.75 or 1 but honestly not sure it's needed if the current amount is working.

I'm about 4 weeks in and down 4 pounds myself. I know some people expect huge numbers right away but honestly I'm happy with it. Still eating what I enjoy, not running some crazy deficit. A pound a week is solid and sustainable. Might bump up the dose eventually but right now it's doing what I need so I'm sticking with it.

One site recommends 0.6mg of another peptide when adding it to 10mg of three-hormone. Thinking of starting there. Tirz by itself only gave me fatigue, nothing else so far.

with how careful you're being and patient with the titration, honestly hard to see you hitting 15 anytime soon, maybe another year. what's your target weight? and how tall are you?
