My 35th birthday is right around the corner, and I was reminiscing, looking at old photos. It's astounding how much I've changed in just a few years.

Back in late 2024, I was hovering around 400 pounds, my blood sugar was a mess, and my blood pressure was sky-high. I'd tried every diet imaginable, but nothing stuck. Then I started on a GLP-1 med, and wow, what a difference. Sure, the weight loss is great, but it's so much more than that. I'm the healthiest I've been since high school, my blood pressure is normal, my A1C is good, and I'm actually enjoying life. I don't binge eat anymore! I actually like being active and working out. I can do things I haven't been able to do in ages. I went from a 4x shirt to an XL, size 54 pants to a 44, I can walk for miles, I can climb stairs without gasping for air, and I don't need a seat belt extender on airplanes anymore. The list goes on.

I know some folks think these meds are "cheating," but they only work if you put in the effort too. Call it what you want, but this med gave me my life back. 120 pounds down, another 30 to go!

Thanks, Jamie2003! Honestly, consistency is key. Stick with the dosing schedule your doc recommends. I started low and gradually increased as needed. Also, listen to your body – if you're feeling nauseous, don't push it. Small, frequent meals helped me a lot. Also, increasing the amount of water I drank helped me a lot too!

I'm so glad to hear about your success, FiberLean! I've been on a similar journey myself. Started around 410 lbs back in February, and I'm down to about 340 now. Still have a ways to go, but for the first time in a long time, I actually feel good about how I look. It's a game changer!

That's fantastic progress! Have you noticed any issues with loose skin as you've lost weight?
