Mindful Eating, Med-Style?

In about 14 days, I'm supposed to reduce my dosage for the first time! This photo is a reminder of how little food it really takes to be satisfied. We don't need to finish everything on our plates. Ever.

This week, I tried a "French" method for feeling full. I make bone broth and then use that as the base for vegetable soup. I drink a bowl before dinner to reduce my intake of high-calorie foods. Plus, it's extra protein!

I also use a smaller salad plate at home to help control my portions. I tell myself, "You can always have seconds, but try this much first."

I've been feeling more hungry this week; maybe it's time to increase my dosage. I've been on 2.5mg for the last four months. Even when I feel hungry, I still try to stick to small portions.

I'm a little anxious about increasing to 2.4mg next time. 1.7mg is already making me feel like I'm starving myself. I'm never hungry and get full so quickly. I definitely need to make sure I'm getting enough protein.

Where is everyone finding their meds? I'm wanting to start, but I'm seeing scam after scam. Also, congrats! Can't wait to get started!

I don't order combo meals anymore. A burger and water is all I need at a fast food place. It amazes me the foods I can eat and still maintain. If I want some ice cream, I have a little bit, or some blackberry cobbler, just a small portion.

I'm slowly lowering my dosage, and so far, so good. It feels different, but I'm still making the same good choices, staying active, and exercising. I remind myself how good I feel in my clothes and I don't want to go back to feeling sad.

Ugh, thank you! I had a croissant breakfast sandwich for dinner last night and ate the WHOLE thing (one sausage patty, one egg, some cheese on a croissant). I felt awful the rest of the night. Time to get back to the 'it's okay to toss leftovers' mindset.

I'm thrilled when I can only eat half a sandwich and feel satisfied, or when two eggs and a handful of berries fills me up. It's so great to eat less and feel good!

Just the other day on a business trip abroad I ordered a salad, and most of it went to waste! It was enormous, and I was full after just a few bites.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I'm going to try eating slower and paying attention to my body's signals more. I think that will help when I lower the dosage. Has anyone here ever skipped a dose for a vacation?

I skipped a dose once

and regretted it. Ate like my old self and paid for it! Felt nauseous all day and ended up... well, projectile issues. Not pretty!

OMG thanks for the warning! LOL. I'm planning a cruise soon, and that's EXACTLY the kind of overdoing-it scenario I was worried about. Maybe I'll just stick to smaller portions.

I've been using my pens way past the manufacturer's expiration date. As long as the liquid is clear and it's been refrigerated, it should be okay. Don't throw them away just because of the date! My pharmacist told me it was fine as long as it's not cloudy. Folks do this with insulin as well.
