Mochi = 😡 Scam!

I just had a terrible experience with a certain online service and wanted to warn everyone. They make you pay a $200 signup fee just to see if any doctors are even available! I coughed up the cash, logged in, and the earliest appointment was 2 weeks away at 2:30 AM! I checked back for 2 weeks hoping for a normal time slot, but nothing opened up. I tried to cancel and get a refund, but they said refunds are only within 24 hours. I called and complained and a manager promised a refund in a week. Nothing happened. I called again and they said they had no record of my previous call or refund request. I've never seen a company act like this!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Tired_of_Tired! Heads up to everyone: let's keep the discussion focused on approved meds and avoid any talk about buying/selling privately. If someone DMs you offering something, ignore it!

Definitely file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to expose them publicly. They flat-out lied in my BBB exchange, but I had proof to call them out. Let the public know!

Once you get your money back, here are some names of places I've had good experiences with, and have recommended to family:

They all have different pricing structures, but what's important for all of them is:

* No monthly membership fees.
* Watch out for affiliate links.
* Choose your own compounding pharmacy.

That's not quite right... I pay a $79 monthly subscription, not $200. And the medication itself is $99, but you can't order it without seeing a provider first. I'm confused how you paid $200? I've always been able to find appointments, maybe it depends on your location? I'm not saying they're perfect, but they've been fine for me so far.

It gets even worse than that, actually.

I can't post the URL here, but search for this:

"Kirkland startup pharmacy hires unlicensed workers to handle GLP-1 medications, whistleblowers say."

It's a news report. Scary stuff.

Thanks, everyone. Update, I'll try to dispute with CC. Anyone else having issues, DOCUMENT everything. Then go to your bank for a charge back! Banks might screw you sometimes, but they will defend you from fraud.

Yeah, Tired_of_Tired, definitely file a BBB complaint and post on social media. Companies often respond when you make it public. I had a problem with another service once, and I only got my money back after posting on social media and the BBB.

Mochi ripped me off, too. They charged me for meds for two months straight but never shipped them. I tried to get a refund, and they kept stalling until I couldn't do a chargeback anymore. Then they ghosted me. Plus, I saw a news story that they were using untrained, uncertified staff and sourcing vials from overseas that were breaking in transit. It's scary. Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit.

You can switch doctors on their platform. My doctor always has evening spots open. When I first signed up, there were no appointments for weeks, so I just switched and got an appointment the following week. Worth trying since they won't give you your money back.

I'll add my BBB review too. I had to get my bank involved. They lied about the pharmacies they partner with and took forever to reply to my messages. 🙄

I've been using another service, found it recommended here. It's like $180 a month for semaglutide, and no hidden fees when you increase your dose. Shipping is super fast. Only downside is there's no face-to-face consult, which might be an issue for some people. But I'm healthy and have a regular doctor, so I didn't care.

I've heard that there are peptide sources out there that don't do proper independent testing. Has anyone had any experience with that?
I hear you. I tried some sema from three different places and NONE of them worked. I've used the real prescription stuff before, so I know what to expect, and these had zero effects. I think a lot of these companies get their products from overseas where there's no regulation, and they just don't work.

UPDATE: After months of calling and being denied a refund, I posted negative reviews on Google, BBB, Reddit and Facebook, and they emailed me within hours saying they are refunding me! I called them this morning and they were adamant they would not refund me, but a little negative publicity and suddenly they can. I stand by what I said. They're shady, unethical and they only did the right thing once they saw it might cost them other business. Beware.

Upfront fees without guaranteed appointment access is a pattern across several telehealth services - not just one bad actor.
