Month & a half in!

After strugging with disordered eating for a decade now, this has really been a game changer. I'm not obsessing over every single thing I put in my mouth anymore.

Were you heavy to begin with?

Congrats regardless! EDs are awful, but honestly, you looked amazing then and still look amazing now! Great job.

How'd you do it?! The first month is usually a super low dose! How many pounds did you lose? I've been on it for half a year and have only lost 12.

I had binge eating disorder myself. I don't miss those cravings at all. Congrats to you!!

You look amazing! This is super similar to my situation. Did you experience any side effects? I'm thinking of starting in January, but with work and family, I can't risk serious side effects. Like you, I don't want to be on it forever, just want to lose that stubborn 15 pounds that won't budge even though I eat pretty well. Thanks for sharing this encouraging post!

Thanks everyone! To answer some questions: I'm 5'4". I started at 145 and I'm hovering around 130 now. No real exercise regimen, just trying to be more mindful of my body.

I can really relate to the mental aspect

It's so freeing! I used to spend so much time worrying about food. Now I can just... live.

It's the same vibe as skinny people judging heavier people for lacking willpower
Totally agree! It's infuriating. People don't understand that it's not always about willpower, sometimes it's a medical issue.

I've lost around 100 pounds, and it's wild how body dysmorphia messes with you. I can *see* the progress, my A1c is way better... but I still see the 'old' me sometimes. My doc says we'll be talking maintenance soon and maybe even a tummy tuck for the excess skin. Anyone else?

The excess skin issue is so real. It's frustrating that insurance often sees it as 'cosmetic' when it can cause real health problems like skin infections. More awareness and support are needed for this.
