Mounjaro: Metabolism Booster?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Since you mentioned dieting, I'm guessing you're carrying excess stored fat like I was. Fat is energy storage, ideally the body taps it for fuel when needed. If signaling worked properly, the body would recognize reserve fuel is available and open that pathway freely. Starvation mode, where the brain forces conservation and exhaustion, should only trigger when fat stores run genuinely low. But a broken signal means the brain doesn't register stored fuel exists, so it stubbornly refuses to draw on it. That's why dieting alone often just makes the brain slow everything down, thinking you're underfueled. This medication helps repair that signaling. So now, without enough incoming fuel from food, the body finally releases that stored fat.

Boosting metabolism through this medication? That's really something to bring up with a doctor. For whatever reason the body seems to genuinely need all those calories being eaten, since there's no excess weight to speak of.

Not sure why you're bringing this up in reply to me. I'm on Mounjaro, which is letting my metabolism function the way it should. Don't need to 'restart' anything.

This medication class corrects underlying metabolic problems for some people that make losing weight harder. I have type 2 diabetes and it's helping my insulin sensitivity and keeping my blood sugar steady. So personally, no, that wouldn't apply to my situation.
