Mounjaro side effects got too bad 😭

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Two years on mounjaro now. Went through stretches of both diarrhea and constipation early on. Barely notice side effects these days. Rough at the start, but pushing through was worth it completely. Every health marker's improved. Off blood pressure medication entirely, 50 lbs lighter (began at 203, now 153), A1c dropped from 13 down to 5.6. Leaned on miralax and imodium along the way

A year on Mounjaro and I haven't felt sick or nauseous even once. Sure, that's a single data point, but so are the scary side effect tales. Remember that happy campers rarely post loudly, meaning negative reports dominate, which makes side effects look more common than they truly are. For my diabetes it has quite literally saved me. Complications of diabetes killed my father. My sister and husband are on it too. Honestly the American food supply harms our health more than any GLP-1 does.

That's the Mounjaro. I went through it too. Symptoms come and go across the following days. Around a month to 6 weeks in, my side effects had faded to almost nothing, just a little lingering nausea.

Mounjaro never gave me that. It gave me no benefit at all, and thick undigested food kept coming back up as vomit that choked me. Online people shamed me, saying I did not deserve weight loss since I would not push through. Yet after a nine-month break my chest burned so badly that I truly believed my heart was failing, and there was still no benefit.

wanted to give everyone an update since the support here means a lot. my doctor called back and said hes fairly confident its not the mounjaro but actually a stomach bug, questioning why it would only start now otherwise. his advice was imodium and a week at the lower 7.5 amount, didnt sound worried at all. that said, im thinking about getting a second opinion since losing total control like this has never happened to me before, not on ozempic, not from any stomach bug. genuinely grateful for everyones input here.

I was on it 16 months, 245 pounds down to 150, then suddenly I couldnt eat anything and had diarrhea and vomiting without pause for roughly two weeks. I stopped Mounjaro, then my blood pressure and cholesterol meds too. Still nonstop. Dehydration got severe and the ER became my destination, and my kidneys nearly failed with a severe injury. It's been 5 weeks since my last shot. So far fine, no weight regained, glucose checked religiously and fine. Slight food noise, manageable. My kidneys are recovering slowly but surely.
