Mounjaro vs Ozempic?

I haven't messed with GIPs yet, but I'm seeing that a 5 mg dose is only slightly ahead of 1mg of Ozempic, but 15 mg is a pretty big improvement in A1c. I like my Oz, so I might run a few bottles of this stuff and let you know what happens. Thanks for the heads up.

I was actually in a study for it. My doc thinks I was getting the highest dose, 15 mg. My A1c went from almost 9 to 6 and a half. My weight went down, too, from 180 to under 140. But the study ended, and my insurance won't pay for it now. I've been on Victoza for a couple of months, and I've already put 10 pounds back on, and my blood sugar is all over the place. On Mounjaro, I felt like I didn't even have diabetes anymore.

Five-day half-life, huh? That means if you get a bad reaction, you're gonna be in for a rough time for maybe a month. That's what happened to me with semaglutide. Took me almost a month to feel normal again. I'm never touching one of those GLP-1s again. You might be fine, but who knows? Too dangerous, too many bad side effects.

Mounjaro sounds amazing! How long were you on it? I'm two and a half weeks in at 10 mg, and I have zero appetite. I can't wait to get my A1c checked again.

I took one dose of 0.25mg, then spent the next four days almost throwing up, which I managed with some old Zofran my wife had from her pregnancy. The vomiting stopped after a week, but I felt nauseous and awful for another three weeks. I never took another dose. And yeah, I had no energy at the gym, either. I'm still mad at myself for even trying it.

I switched to Mounjaro from Ozempic a month ago... because I plateaued. Down almost 90 pounds in two years. Feel great!
Wow! Congrats on the progress. I'm hoping for similar results.

I was pre-diabetic last year and started Ozempic. It worked for a little while, but I just switched to Mounjaro, and I'm still doing my once-a-day fasting thing. Slow progress, but it's progress!

Great job! Just make sure you're getting adequate protein and fiber with that one meal. It can be difficult!

ozempic worked better for me but gave harsher side effects. mounjaro doesn't cut my appetite quite as much and doesn't knock down the food noise like ozempic did.

extremely medication sensitive, get worst side effects to everything. went on ozempic for insulin resistance and pcos. life changing. 2 years in, wear a cgm, change nothing and sugars spike when meds wear off. only awful burps and vomit early while figuring food. nervous at first but glad i took the leap.

Tirzepatide targets two receptors vs semaglutide's one - the dual action means stronger appetite suppression and better outcomes for most. Data backs this. Worth trying if accessible.

The GI profile difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide is real and consistent - nausea and vomiting are more frequent on sema, while tirz tends to land easier for people who struggled with that side of Ozempic. The IBS-D resolution is a separate benefit that goes beyond just appetite suppression.
