My clothes are too big!

Hit up some consignment shops! I've gone through tons of jeans since I began losing weight. Most of them were super cheap, like under $8. And they're decent brands too!

I made the mistake of buying 5 new pairs right when my old jeans got too big. Two months later, I needed pants two sizes smaller. Now I'm down from a size 34 to a 30/31. So, I still wear the bigger pants sometimes because I don't want them to go to waste.

Definitely get yourself something new, but be ready to buy more clothes again before you expect to.

Cheap stores and consignment shops are the way to go. I don't wear jeans much, so I've only bought 3 pairs, and only one in each size. For workout clothes, I've gotten away with just buying new ones in smaller sizes and adding drawstrings to the older pairs.

If you have a lot of weight to lose, you probably can't avoid buying new things until you reach maintenance. A belt can only do so much. Don't overspend, and get okay with buying lower quality stuff. It's pointless to buy high end clothes that will be too big in a few months.

I had a cute elastic belt that did the trick... until my jeans started looking like clown pants, haha. I even tried moving the metal clasp to make the waist smaller. Then I got 2 pairs from a thrift store. Size 12! I waited to buy new jeans (size 8) until I reached my goal weight (after losing about 45 pounds).

I hadn’t worn adult women’s smaller than size 14 ever. It felt like I was entering a whole new world.

If I could do it again, I'd wait until I hit my goal weight, OR if there was a special occasion.

If you're going to buy new clothes, go to thrift stores, clearance sales, or yard sales.

I've gone from XXL to XL to L to M in tops and casual bottoms, and from a 40 to a 32 in jeans. I embraced buying clothes as I lost weight, but only when things were on sale since I knew I'd keep losing.

Right now, I'm wearing size 33 jeans, which are too big, but I'm using an elastic belt that works well for different sizes. And I like the baggy look, so it works.

You'll know when things are just too big and you need a smaller size.

If you can drop 2 sizes at once, you can save a little on shopping.

My son is bigger than me now, so he's taken a bunch of my old clothes. Otherwise, barely worn stuff goes to charity.

I bought a few pairs of size 4 jeans, thinking I'd never get smaller than that. I did, and now I'm a 0 or 2. But it felt so good buying those jeans, and I don't regret it.

Treat yourself to a pair or two of cheap jeans, and show them off! You can always donate them when they get too big.

I've recovered jeans and a lot of clothes from 20 or 30 years ago that I kept because they were very pretty but didn't fit me.
Now there are things that are even too big for me. What happiness! 🥰

I'm dealing with PCOS, and it's always been extremely difficult for me to lose weight. I'm so happy to have finally found something that works! I've gone from around 235 lbs to 185 lbs. Feeling so much better!

That's amazing! Some people are on these meds for life (I might be, as a T2D), so it is important to find something sustainable.

I've been on this since last spring, and I'm always amazed when I compare earlier photos to now. Sometimes it's hard to tell day to day, but when I see the progress over months...wow. Even just how my clothes fit is a huge difference!

Measurements, in addition to the scale, can be really helpful.

That's a good idea! I think I'll take some pics to compare.

Had 40 lbs to go and it's taking forever! Exercising harder, eating nearly full keto with reduced calories but my body won't budge. Only 5 lbs down since January despite the effort. Not getting the response I expected.
