Hey all! Wanted to give my story for those just starting out, it's been a wild ride so far.
I'm a 44 year old guy and 5' 2''. Back in January '24, I was tipping the scales at 266, BMI was like 48.something. Highest I've ever been. Managed to drop about 10lbs before starting on meds, but doc was worried about my health (turns out I had cirrhosis). They wanted a faster weight loss. Started with Ozempic, but I could not deal with the side effects! Switched to Zepbound, then Mounjaro 'cause of my type 2 diabetes diagnosis earlier that year.
Hit my lowest around 132 (in Fall of '25). Started gaining a bit back after switching to a new med, but I'm back on track now. Never went above 7.5mg, was only on that for a hot minute before dropping back to 5mg, then 2.5mg for maintenance. Been cruising there until recently, when I bumped it back up to 5 to get rid of a few extra pounds I put back on.
I plan on staying on this for the long haul. Helps quiet the food noise, even though I hate the nausea. Sorry my before pic isn't great. It's the best I had when I was at my heaviest. I think I might have lost a pound or two by that point. I frickin' *hate* that picture, but I keep it around to remind myself where I DON'T want to be.
