My GLP-1 journey

I started taking medication back in the summer of '22. It's been a gradual process over these last couple of years, but the weight seems to be staying off for good this time. I've always struggled with keeping the pounds off; my size went up and down like a roller coaster until my 40s when I shot up to nearly 300 pounds. Now I'm down to around 145 pounds. Pictures of before and after surprised me. I feel good in my body and in my head. My health situation has gotten so much better. I've made serious progress.

Thanks everyone! To answer some questions, my diet is mostly focusing on whole foods now, lots of protein and veggies. I try to limit processed stuff and sugar. I also started walking a lot more and doing some light strength training a few times a week. It's all about building healthy habits!

Amazing progress, Happy_Tracker911! It's encouraging to hear about long-term success with these medications. I'm curious, were there any plateaus you experienced along the way, and if so, how did you overcome them?

That is really impressive and makes me happy for you. I'd be interested in your starting A1C and current, plus blood pressure changes if you're willing to share. Congrats!

Inspired by your story, Happy_Tracker911. I've been working out for a few months now. I was nervous about stopping the meds, but I'm gonna try it soon. Any advice?

That's awesome that you're getting healthier! Congrats! I'm still on a very low dose, but my doctor is talking about taking me off completely. I'm nervous too! I guess just stay consistent with your diet and exercise, and keep in close contact with your doctor during the transition.
