My wife shed almost 200 lbs!

Hey everyone, wanted to share my wife's progress. She had a bariatric procedure in early '22, dropping around 80 lbs initially, shown in the first pic. Then she kinda stalled. Our doctor then suggested a GLP-1, semaglutide. It really jumpstarted things. From 365 lbs, she's now down a total of 173 lbs and has surpassed her initial goal weight. She wants to lose maybe 20 more. I've also lost a bit of weight myself, and together we've dropped 250 lbs. After years of struggle, we can't express how grateful we are for the assistance the medication has given us.

It seems like surgeons are going to see less business because of these meds. Which is a good thing to me since many people suffer complications after surgery, and still might not reach their desired weight, unlike your wife.

Amazing accomplishment! Your wife looks fantastic! Could you elaborate a bit more? Has your wife's mental well-being improved? How are her energy levels? What about her general quality of life? Also, did you follow a specific diet and exercise plan while taking the medication?

Has she noticed any changes in her muscle tone? I've heard some people focus on upping their protein intake and doing more strength training while on these meds. It'd be interesting to hear about her experience.

We did make some changes. Mostly portion control and trying to walk more. Nothing too extreme, honestly. The meds really helped curb her appetite, which made it easier to stick to smaller meals. Mental health has improved a ton, and she has way more energy now.

I'm down about 18 pounds over the last few months and even that feels like a huge difference! I can only imagine what 170+ must feel like. Congrats to your wife!
