Needle gauge questions

The number followed by 'mm' tells you the length of the needle. The gauge (G) is about the width; smaller numbers are wider.

When I use insulin syringes for GLP-1s and other peptides, I tend to go for 32 gauge and 6mm. I think that's the thinnest insulin syringe you can get.

A 32 gauge might even work with certain oil-based compounds, like testosterone, depending on how much you're injecting and what kind of oil they use.

I've had some 30 gauge needles that bend when I try to poke them through the vial. But they weren't a name brand, so maybe that's why.

Trying to inject an oil-based substance with a 32 gauge needle is like trying to suck a really thick milkshake through a tiny straw. You'll be there all day.

I had to heat the oil before I could use a 25 gauge... I've been using 23 gauge, 1 inch needles....and for peptides, I use an 18 gauge straight into my urethra. It hurts but it works.

I'm new to this, so please bear with me. Would a 32 gauge needle be smaller than a 30 gauge 5/16" 0.5ml Easy Touch syringe? I switched to Easy Touch from some cheaper ones I bought online, and I bled for the first time. It didn’t hurt, but it freaked me out a little. I switched because I heard that the stuff online isn't good quality. But I was doing fine with the cheap 31G 1cc 5/16 Inch(8mm) needles from the internet. Easy Touch is the only brand that made me bleed. Now I'm trying to find the smallest needle I can get. I've heard that BD is a good brand.

Yep, a 32 gauge needle is thinner than a 30 gauge and lessens discomfort.

(5/16" is equal to 8mm, but you can always insert at an angle if having a slightly longer needle is a concern.)

I'm not sure about the test-e that I have right now. The box looks nice, but it just says it's oil-based. It seems thinner than the last test-e I bought, which also just said “oil base.”

When the oil was thicker, I could only inject 30 units at once. I plan to get thicker needles anyway because I'm switching to injecting once a week instead of twice a week.

The test-c that I ordered uses MCT as its base.

I agree. But I injected it in the same spot I always do, and I've never had a problem before. It didn’t hurt. I just got a little spooked because there was a big drop of blood. I probably just hit a small blood vessel.

If it looks clear it's probably mct oil or migoyl. If it's colored, it's grape seed oil and more viscous. I know we're talking UGL stuff, but for those paying $150/month for TRT maybe their pharmacies are using a thinner oil. The only way I could ever inject test with an insulin pin was by backfilling it (pulling the plunger and adding the liquid with a 22 or 23 gauge needle).

I bled when I first started. I was injecting at a 45 degree angle in areas without much fat and pinching the skin too hard. Now I inject into my love handles/fatty areas at a 90 degree angle and gently grab the skin. I avoid my stomach. Also, don't poke the vial too many times before injecting. The needle gets dull fast. I use EasyTouch 31G 8mm. Some stoppers are harder, so you have to inject in the center, otherwise the needle bends. That's just my experience.

It happens! Early on with sema I thought I was injecting but I forgot to take off the inner cap. I was pressing the pen against my skin for a month! I felt like such an idiot.

No way! Did you at least lose weight while you were doing it?
