Nervous about starting GLP-1s?

took a decade but we're finally starting fertility stuff monday and omg nervous. lost 140 lbs since feb, 8 months in. it's been work but happened — small stuff stacked over time. you got this too 💪

GLP-1 controls my blood sugar better than anything else I tried. For weight, my real issue is emotional eating, not hunger signals. On the med, I can go half the day without thinking about food. Weird how much brain space that frees up.

Eat stuff you actually like. Small, calorie-dense foods — babybel cheese with an apple works for me because a sandwich feels enormous. Collagen in coffee if I can't eat. Fairlife protein drinks when food won't go down. Minimum 1200 cals, solid protein, tons of water.

The nervousness at the start is almost universal - and the fact that you went in knowing the dose management options (smaller start, hydration, electrolytes) already puts you ahead of most people at week one. The first 2-3 weeks are the adjustment window where most of the side effects that appear also resolve. The most common fear that doesn't materialize is that the nausea will be unmanageable; most people find it's localized to the first couple days after each dose at low starting doses.

Starting at the same time as someone going through the same first-week experience is genuinely useful - the mutual check-in replaces the need to question whether every sensation is normal.
