Nikki Glazer on Ozempic Truths?

She's joking, but there's truth there. A lot of the anger about these medications stems from the realization that being overweight isn't always just about 'bad choices.' It challenges the idea that thinness is solely the result of superior discipline...

Totally! I've got this friend who's always been naturally slim, and she's clearly bothered that I'm losing weight now too (even if she won't admit it). It's like I'm encroaching on her 'thin' territory.

Seriously. As I've been getting healthier, some of my female friends have become noticeably less supportive. I'm down almost 50 pounds, had a breast reduction, and dropped four dress sizes. An old friend I hadn't seen in a year acted like she didn't even notice. The jealousy is real. I used to be the 'safe' friend, the one with all the good qualities but also the weight. Now I'm suddenly a threat. 😂😂😂😂

It's the absolute truth! It's those who want you to stay heavy and unhappy who are the most resentful! This medication has truly been life-changing for me.

Exactly! The same folks who tell you to 'just go to the gym' are the ones making fun of overweight people when they actually do go!

I love this take. It's almost like thin people are panicking now that science is revealing some of their 'secrets' (well, not entirely, but you catch my drift).

A coworker I have a complicated relationship with was furious when I told her I was using Mounjaro. She literally said, "Now you're going to be a skinny witch." I laughed so hard!

Saw a great response to this kind of thinking today: It's not a magic bullet. It's a tool to help establish healthier habits. It's not just the meds; it's about learning to eat better and being more active.

I wholeheartedly agree with

It's a support system. I thank God for this medication every day. I've lost a considerable amount since starting, and I'm finally optimistic about reaching my goal. I plan on using it for life.

Dr. Nadolsky says it's about personalized medicine. It isn't one size fits all. Some people might need it longer term, some shorter. Plus lifestyle changes play a HUGE role. It's not just the drug doing all the work.
